We received a warm welcome on arrival by the owner with an immediate offer to take us to the train station complimentary. That was only the start of all the personal touches. Twin room had 3 beds in. We requested if they could cook us a omelette or fried eggs instead of the eggs they served for breakfast. It was no bother and done with a smile. Instead of just dropping us off at the railway station the manager carried our luggage and introduced us to the man behind ticket counter. All these small and so important things are not seen other. Well done from seasoned worldwide travellers.

Exceptional hotel. The staff is very friendly. Restaurant has bio (organic) options. The food is really well-made and not expensive. Bikes can be locked inside. Not everything is perfectly new but that actually makes it feel much more welcoming. Big recommendation!

The food was amazing. Everything was fresh, organic and locally produced... even the herbal teas at breakfast..and the yoghurt, bread from two local bakeries, cheese, butter, fruit, jams and eggs. Dinner likewise, including locally sourced wild game, fungi and chestnuts. The staff from chef, through waiting staff and chambermaids were highly competent, professional, friendly and multilingual. The nicest room I've ever stayed in, large, warm and with a great view, a big luxury bath and his and hers washbasins. The setting at the foot of Val Poschiavo with Lago di Poschiavo to one side and the railway station, to the other is just perfect.(It's more like a tram stop in the street and ten paces takes you to the hotel door. There's also the fantastic Poschiavo Plus scheme giving free unlimited travel by bus and train throughout Val Poschiavo from the snows at the top of the pass to Tirano in Italy, if you stay two or more nights in participating accommodation. (Yes - that is the UNESCO world heritage Bernina Express route)

Gasthaus & Hotel Berninahaus is located next to the Bernina Suot Railway Station of the UNESCO-protected Rhaetian Railway.

Absolutely a great experience. From the room to the staff, the restaurant and the included cable car tickets. Very friendly staff both at reception and the restaurant. Breakfast, staff and the SPA are 10/10.

Perfect hotel to "get away from it all". Secluded with amazing views and various things to keep you occupied (if you need). The staff were very friendly and helpful right from the moment we entered the Funicular base station. Return fare and breakfast were included in the booking. Dinner at the restaurant was delicious and the breakfast offered plenty to choose from. Train station or bus stop is a short walk from the Funicular.
