The staff were very accommodating, considering it was a last minute booking on a very tight schedule. While there were only a few rooms left at the time of the booking, the guest was satisfied with the facilities and the stay overall. It is a second stay for this guest at this hotel, and much like the previous stay, the thing that truly makes this hotel stand out is the courtesy and treatment by the staff, which I found exceptional even by the high standards of the Japanese hospitality industry. It is within a reasonable walking distance of several hot springs spas, the major commercial center which is the area of the train station, and the primary nightlife area of Kawabata. Highly recommended in for anyone traveling to, or staying in, Akita city.

Dormy Inn Akita is located opposite historical Senshu Park and is a 5-minute walk. from JR Akita Station is 8-minute walk. Free internet access and a public bath are provided. Great size of the room. They kindly adapted to my request to have a park-facing room. Free hot spring comes with free popsicles and free washing machine service (!!!!) Free late night snack (a decent bowl of soup noodles).

The hotel can drop and pick you up between the hotel and the ski area, which made our stay like ski-in-ski-out, BUT you have to manage the time as the car will leave the hotel at 9am and pick you up at the ski area at 4pm back to the hotel.
