The room was new, spacious, and very clean. The owners are incredibly kind and love their dogs (and puppies!) - dog lovers will feel right at home here. There’s no AC, but the cool nights made it perfectly comfortable. The Wi-Fi runs on Starlink, so the connection was strong. And the food… absolutely amazing - probably the best we had in all of Sumba! Don’t miss their famous lobster soup!

We had a wonderful time at this exceptional eco-resort. We stayed for four nights, but we wished we could have stayed longer. From the moment of arrival, all throughout our stay and right up to our departure, we were exceedingly well-treated by all the staff at Anna Villas. They staff make this the special place it is: they were welcoming, friendly and kind, and provide amazing service. This is a fantastic place to really chill out and get close to nature. We saw wild horses and buffalo, and enjoyed watching glorious sunsets and looking up to see the stars at night. There is an incredible beach, which we had almost entirely to ourselves, most of the time. We relaxed, and went swimming and snorkelling to see the incredible coral reefs. We stayed in the Villa Paul area, which had a fantastic shared pool and well-designed communal area, which was a great place to hang out. Inside, the private villa was beautifully decorated with lovely furniture and facilities. We ate all our meals at Anna Villas and we were really happy with everything we had to eat and drink. They accommodated vegetarians very well. It's possible to organise trips and other activities at Anna Villas. We chose to have a Sumbanese massage, with traditional local oils, which was fantastic. Overall, this was a magical stay, which we will never forget.

Morika Villa se encuentra en Rua, a solo 17 min a pie de Rua Beach, y ofrece alojamiento con piscina al aire libre, terraza, bar y wifi gratis. Fantastic villa, only 4 villas very spacious clean and Private, the staff are amazing and really take an interest in looking after you. Food was very good with good variety. We will be back with a few more friends and family. Someone commented about the road in, and how bad it was, it’s actually not to bad as far as Sumba goes, we hired a scooter from the Villas and really explored the area. We would have stayed loner but unfortunately they were booked out. 5 nights was not long enough.

Hars Garden Sumba está en Waingapu y ofrece jardín. Hay parking privado gratis y el alojamiento dispone de servicio de traslado de pago para ir o volver del aeropuerto. We had an amazing stay at Har's place. The location is nothing short of dreamy, with amazing views of the valley hills just in front. Har has constructed all the houses (I recall around 3-4 now) by himself, you can check on his IG for more detail on how he built them! All of them are really comfortable and unique, following the local architecture, blending with nature and each of them providing a different experience. Har is an expert and consultant on organic farming and produces his own veggies that he uses to cook the most fantastic breakfasts you will ever have, super yummy and different everyday, with the plus of overviewing the views directly from your stay. Don't forget also to order dinner from him, much better than eating anywhere else, every meal was amazing. Har always went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable, showed as around his plantation (he plants to reforest the area with a thousand fruit trees!) and the best: he gave us the best tips on the island, pointing spots that are not even in Google Maps and ready to explore. Think on pristine waterfalls, empty beaches, beautiful local villages, hills, etc. Please visit Har and Sumba before it gets ruined by the evils of mass tourism, and please visit with an open mind, it's raw, wild, authentic, and that's why is missing facilities compared with other destinations, but that what make it so unique and special. Thanks so much Har, we cannot wait to visit you again, cannot wait to see your new creations, houses, farm and forest!

The staff here is beyond delightful, they made the stay! Helpful, friendly. The aromatherapy massage was excellent as well!
