Loved staying here. Great location, great host. Spacious room and bathroom. Excellent facilities eg microwave airfryer coffee maker. The breakfast is defintley worth it.. The accomodation itself very authentic and unique, like the change from a generic hotel.
Located 5 minutes’ drive from Central Sydney, this Membertou, Nova Scotia hotel offers an indoor pool with a water slide, serves a daily continental breakfast and offers rooms with free Wi-Fi.

- Breakfast was great, good variety of food, waffles, not many vegetables.
- The pool and a slide are great for kids, and the gym is available as well.
- Convenient location close to the city center.

The room was perfect. Must be the master bedroom of the house with a huge king bed ,plenty of space and a luxurious bathroom.. Breakfast was plentiful although the day's selection for French toast and sausages was not perfect for me, I should have asked for eggs which were prepared for another customer.

What a quaint place to visit, the Port of Sydney, the Big Fiddle, the boardwalk and the shopping was great. I was there during the Celtic Festival and had a great time. When the cruise ships are docked, there is small vendors open for shopping and I found some great items for purchase. It was easy to get around the city, although at the time of our visit, there was some construction going on, which slowed down the traffic. All in all i would love to come back in the future!!

Membertou was an area just outside of Sydney proper and just a few kilometres from the highway making it easy to access.
Our B&B was in the rural setting with beautiful acres and the property had two horses that we watched from a wonderful west-facing deck to capture the sunset. We came for relaxation and it delivered.

We loved the location of the Sea Cliff cottage and all the amenities it afforded. We spent one day driving the spectacular Cabot Trail although it was a long day and long drive. But the views were worth it.

The room was vey nice.
The room was vey nice. The bed was comfortable and I’m quite fussy about beds! There was a fridge in the room with milk and coffee/coffee maker and teabags with kettle available in the main kitchen. We had our own bathroom with a great tub and shower. We felt very at home they even had bathrobes which was great as the bathroom was just outside our room door. I also appreciate that there was a fan. A short drive to Sydney where we were visiting family and running errands. Wonderful stay we will be back!

This was our second trip to North Sydney.
This was our second trip to North Sydney. This trip we used as bookends to our ferry trip to and from Newfoundland. This is a quiet little town, surrounded by incredible beauty. The Black Spoon is a must if you enjoy good food. Friendly people and lots to do. NS would be a good home base for exploring the area.

When I left (For the second year running) there are no facilities to obtain refreshments if you have a long wait. (I arrived because of check out time 11:30 and the flight did not leave until 16:45) That is a long wait without the ablitly to have some refreshments.

I was in Membertou for a course.
I was in Membertou for a course. I suspect that a lot of folks go there for sports events. The area is easy to navigate. The hockey rink in the Sport and Wellness Ctr has viewing areas upstairs behind glass so you don't have to be in a loud rink to see the action. I ate at Kiju's restaurant- the food was very good and the service was excellent. There are displays of Mi'kmaq arts, crafts, and games outside the restaurant area. I walked to the Rotary park behind the rink. The paths are well cared for and there are maps at key points in the park. If you are planning to be in Membertou for an event you should book your hotel early

The principal reason to travel to North Sydney is to take the Newfoundland ferry. As such, there are not really any attractions in the town. For travellers passing through, there are a few accommodations, restaurants and fast food outlets that offer good quality. Access to the Trans-Canada Highway is easy and quick.

Sydney has a nice heritage section, worth visiting.
Sydney has a nice heritage section, worth visiting. It is also only a short drive from the Louisbourg Fortress, where costumed characters give visitors interesting stories of the French settlers in the 1700s and descendants of the indigenous inhabitants tell their customs. Several other historical venues, as well as beautiful drives are near Sydney.

We arrived on a Monday and found out there were very limited options for dinner (Chinese or Italian, i.e. pizza). Those choices did not suit us, so we had to drive to Sydney. It was not very far (maybe 20 minute drive), but there were lots of options in Sydney.
