About 1min after our arrival, the host arrived to meet us - he was very efficient. He was friendly and decorated the living room for the birthday we were celebrabring, it was very lovely. He even lent us a small fan, since the weather was very warm and only the bedroom was equipped with air conditioning. Appliances and electronics were brand new. Mattress as well, which was very comfortable.

Great resort, lovely beach. 3 bed unit 20 was on first floor, had great view and close to beach. Balcony was fantastic. Air con in bedrooms
Worked well. Good size and clean and nicely decorated albeit basic. Bad lighting in kitchen, beds and pillows not comfortable. It’s all about the location here, close to beach and blue bay is lovely.

It is not over.
It is not over. We were at Spanish Water View Apartments for 1 week and moved to Willemstad for 2 more weeks. Then we are off to Aruba for 2 weeks more. This is our fourth visit, that tells you something about how much we like this place. It is fantastic.

It is my understanding that the best beaches on Curacao are here in the North West section of the island- Willibrordus. We visited several, and while they tend to look alike, some offer more rustic settings while others offer a more upscale experience. Our favorites were Cas Aboa and Playa Porto Mari because of their better facilities.

Defenitly need to rent a car in order to reach all the beautiful spots on tha island.Prices are reasonable.A good place to buy food to go is La Granja, rotisserie. They have a nice selection of chiken and seafood. Also , for lunch or happy hour, go to PasaWa.My favorite beach was Mambo.

One of the most important things is to rent a car.
One of the most important things is to rent a car. Without it, each ride can cost around $25 USD, and distances are quite long. D&D Car Rental was excellent. I loved all the restaurants — the food in this country is really good. There's one called VISBOER, and I absolutely loved the red snapper.
I highly recommend the beaches Kenepa and Porto Mari, as well as Mambo Beach and Papagayo. They're not only beautiful beaches but also great resorts — super fun and relaxing spots to visit!

The capital is stunning!
The capital is stunning! We went twice, once on Sunday, (when quiet). Most shops were closed but we were able to get great pics and avoid crowds. We spent our last night in Pietermaai. Thursday is Punda vibes night so we took in the fireworks. We had the great fortune of seeing the Queen Emma bridge swing open for a boat entering the harbour and enjoyed delicious meals and unique cocktails.

Koraal restaurant is great. So is the staff.
Koraal restaurant is great. So is the staff. We booked breakfast and dinner in our stay. Both were very good. We stayed at the VIP/adult only section. Walking back to our room was very uncomfortable at night. NO LIGHTS WORKING GETTING TO OUR ROOM, very dark. My husband even walked up to the wrong room on Friday.
Nevertheless this is by far our favorite staycation.

We liked the house.
We liked the house. Because Jan Tiel is a nice and safe area. It's also close to the beach and a nice supermarket. We also appreciated our communication with the owner. Very quick response day and late in the evenings.

The people of Willemstad were friendly and helpful.
The people of Willemstad were friendly and helpful. It is a beautiful place with a little treasure down every alleyway. I stayed for 8 days and found something new almost everyday. I rented a car for 3 of the 8 days and was able to explore the entire island. Definitely make a trip to see the flamingos! I was able to park on the side of the road and walk to where they were feeding. I also recommend the sip and paint by Vibe & Paint, so relaxing and the view was amazing! I was able to choose my picture(pre-drawn)paint inside the lines(bc I can’t draw a stick person)and it was the perfect size for packing in my carry on. The “snack” that comes with it, along with a complimentary drink, was more like a meal. Such a great value at $50. The car rental(for 3 days)was also great value at $147. Some of the food was a little pricey but everything was delicious. As a solo traveler, the sip and paint was the only actual excursion I did but there is so much to do without paying a dime. Exploring all the culture and history of the island is only a short walk from anywhere. Driving is just like in the US, watch out for other drivers and you’ll be fine. I downloaded Mapsme.com and was able to navigate easily.

Willibrordus is beautiful!
Willibrordus is beautiful! You can see the Williwood sign (their version of the Hollywood sign) as well as flamingos. My favorite beach Porto Marie is also in Willibrordus. They have delicious food and drinks. We love it!
