Everything was just perfect! Super location in a quiet area just outside the city.
The apartment was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We had a lovely outside dining area and sun beds facing south.

Very friendly and open-minded owner - who stays in the next building which is however totally separated from the apartment You will stay. The place itself is well decorated and furnished - has got proper bed, sofa and dining space. Bathroom is maintained with semi-industrial concept - which is quite stylish. You have a very positive impression when stay in. All necessary kitchen equipment is provided - so You can have a tasty, full breakfast. Additional advantage is a "game room", where even after the longer journey You can recharge (provides an agy pool table and football flippers).
Located in Porticcio, Residence Club Marina Viva features an outdoor swimming pool and a tennis court. You have to cross the road to access the swimming pool.

Porticcio is very touristy, it has a beach yes (but a very urban view), can get crowded. There are other beaches 10-15minutes drive from apartment that should be explored and have nice views.
We visited A Cupulata - turtle mini zoo which was a nice experience just 25 min drive.
The best supermarkets are outside Ajacio, like Carrefour, Eleclerc and Geant Casino, I found the small supermarkets near Porticcio more expensive.

Ajaccio is a lovely small town with lots to see and do, considering its size, and especially if you can move in the surrounding areas as well. Corsica is a really beautiful island. I recommend renting a car and driving around - there are some really exciting routes you can take with endless amazing scenery. Try the road from Piana to Porto if you can. It's breathtaking.

It was a great place to stay as it was in a quiet location...
It was a great place to stay as it was in a quiet location from where we could admire amazing picturesque views of the mountains. We travelled by motorcycle and chose Afa as our main location as it was within a very short distance of very beautiful mountain routes for our day trips and close to Ajaccio which we visited during the evening.

We rented 2 nights on the ground floor.
We rented 2 nights on the ground floor. The windows of the room were facing the alleys of the hotel, and the locks were broken. Hence we could not close the room. The reception did not have any other solution than proposing another room on the 2nd floor with the same problem, or playing around with the shutters to lock the room. Quiet a disappointment.

Beautiful beaches, but quite expensive. No buses to move around. Be careful with taxis. A ride airport hotel could be 45 eur-80 eur for less than 15 min ride. To move from one hotel to another one in the same area (2 km distance) the ride was 20 eur and ee waited for 1 hour to get the taxi. The driver told us taxis are not interested in short / cheap rides. Restaurants and hotels are expensive

The traffic and the motorbikes were the main problem . We chose the south of the island as we knew it was difficult to get about . Our hotel was only 4.5 kilometres to the town but what a nightmare getting there . I took 45 Mins and then nowhere to park , We have both ridden bikes when we were young but we were horrified by the constant weaving in and out of traffic at speed . Lots and Lots of bikes . I can understand why because it is gridlock most of the time . Our Friends had booked a hotel in the middle of Ajaccio having flown in and after three day hired a car from the airport and explored south of the island . They walked every where in the town and took the tourist bus which would have done if we could have got to it . It was n to our best island adventure we won't be back

The city is much more lively than Bastia with a nice art museum a historical museum and several beautiful beaches not far (3 miles) from the city center. Unfortunately, I booked an all day boat trip to Bonifacio which was cancelled due to rough seas. I understand that this is not uncommon so you might consider this when determining your length of stay.
