The location was excellent and the hotel itself was a very nice building, interior wise it was partially still in the early 1900s.
The staff was most helpful, kind and cooperative.

Great views of the Tay Bridge.
Great views of the Tay Bridge.
Mills Observatory well worth a visit, saw Saturn with its rings through a telescope. I notice this is not listed among "popular places in Dundee".
V&A Museum building well worth a look even if you are not interested in the contents.
Ate at V&A cafe (good food but pricey).
Bought ham an bread at a supermarket to make my own sandwiches.
I did not see a McDonalds, Burger King, Domino Pizzas nor Greggs.
Walked everywhere, stayed about 1 mile from the centre.

Without wishing to upset the people of Dundee, but Wormit, Newtown and Tayport gets our vote for a place to stay on the Tay.
A nice short walk into Newport where you have places to eat & drink, pick up some essentials if you need to and leave the hustle and bustle of life over the bridge.

It was a lovely little place.
It was a lovely little place. We used it as a base to explore the surrounding area e.g. St Andrews, Dundee, Edinburgh and Aberdeen. There is a nice little cafe on the corner near the harbour, a fish shop, a co-op and a couple of pubs which serve food.

Enjoyed walking the promenade.
Enjoyed walking the promenade. As it was winter season the castle wasn't open so cannot comment on the inside. Beach area for families. Easy to get to center of Dundee by train or walking along the bank of the river Tay. Some really good restaurants.
Do watch where you walk though as dog poo a bit of a problem!

Unfortunately we were only there for a one night stay as we were attending a wedding in ST Andrew’s.
The Shangri la Bed and Breakfast is an excellent accommodation.
The hosts are extremely helpful ,friendly and offer a spotlessly clean place to stay. Breakfast was delicious and nothing any bother for them.
I cannot recommend the Shangri La highly enough. Wish we could have stayed longer to explore the area more. Hosts are very knowledgeable of the surrounding area which can be very helpful. Noticed there was an excellent bus service just outside their front door.
Great value for money. Would definitely go back.

It was an ideal venue for a large family group and a quick drive into St Andrews.
We went to put in the Himalayas in St Andrews , which if you want to do the 18 hole course you should book on line 2 days in advance..
It was great fun.
We self catered for all meals except breakfast on the Sunday when we went to Mitchell’s in St Andrews for brunch. Which I would not recommend.

We were only there for one night on the way from Aberdeen to Edinburgh but golfing in Aberdeen and Monifieth. It was a Monday and therefore restaurants weren’t open as you’d expect although I’m sure it would be better around the weekend.

V & A was excellent and so was the Jute museum.
A bonus was the Jazz Festival coinciding with our visit.
Plenty of good restaurants and my CD collection has grown after visiting the music shops.
We walked around using the free trail leaflets.

A charming coastal resort with plenty to do nearby.
A charming coastal resort with plenty to do nearby. The town has history, and is well supplied with places to chill, eat and drink. Dundee with its museums and galleries is a five-minute train ride away, so Broughty Ferry facilitates a visit without needing to stay amongst the crowds,
The castle, with its museum, has an excellent display of the town's history - and it's all eminently walkable.
