Great location – a short walk to both the bus terminal and the city center, 15 minutes from a nice swimming pool, and about 20 minutes from a good spot for aurora watching (Perlan/Nauthólsvík Geothermal Beach). Easy check-in and check-out. We got a cozy, spacious, and comfortable room with a nice, clean bathroom. A pleasant surprise was the refrigerator in the room. There is also a well-equipped kitchen and a small dining room on the same floor.

Incredible host (Ingis) who is very helpful with tips for our stay. Such a charming building with good culture overall. Well signed and wonderfully stocked kitchen - with free tea and coffee (from a machine!) and including free food from past travellers. Computer for use if needed. Big focus on sustainability, which I love!

Nice hosts, clean room, delicious breakfast.
Location is about 20min walk from the city center.
Parking is great.
Room is big enough, bigger that others we slept in during our stay on Iceland.

The place was quite good, especially for center of Reykjavik, 20 min away walking distance, and it’s very close to Perlan Museum(5/6mins). The front man named Fathi was really approachable and super nice person for everyone. He even recommended us which supermarket is cheaper to stock some foods. The room is comfortable. The kitchen was good, and can even wash our clothes. Highly recommended for people who look for a cheaper place. Don’t be choosy or picky since it’s a ‘HOSTEL’ not a HOTEL. Bring your own towels. 5 nights staying in SM Hostel was amazing.
Set in a building dating back to 1916, this Reykjavík guest house is within 5 minutes’ walk of the popular Laugavegur shopping street. Both WiFi and private, on-site parking are free.

Lovely city full of friendly people.
Lovely city full of friendly people. Reykjavik is an easy and safe city to walk around. All sights were accessible. Plenty of choice for restaurants and bars. Obviously it is expensive by comparison to many destinations but on holiday sometimes you have to just go for it (I do feel sorry for the locals!). Ideal base for exploring this wonderful and very unique country. I took full day tours to Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon and Volcanic Peninsula. Also a spectacular night tour to see the Northern Lights that I shall remember forever. I'll be back again one day to explore more!

ive already answered these questions twice. we paid for a superior room and got one. Neighborhood is out of the way but has great views and animals and is near the road to Costco. we spent 2 weeks driving the entire island and enjoyed it. This place has a theme tastefully done and modern amenities. The Viking Hotel restaurant where you check -in has a nice themed restaurant good food and service.

This is one of ,,those,, accommodations where you want to spend the night after a week full of traveling. It is clear that the owner has a sense of detail and quality. You can feel the quality on the materials and furnishings, the equipment of the entire apartment and the services that are here. Everything is still new, clean. Situated in a quiet location. We slept very well! Parking in front of the entrance, Accessibility anywhere is perfect. Since it is new here, the accommodation does not have any review and even though I usually do not write reviews, I think this one deserves one. For the price, it is exclusive accommodation and we will definitely come back here.

Hafnarfjorthur was between Keflavic and Reykjavik making it quite handy and more affordable to stay at. We rented a car to tour the Golden Circle, enjoy the Blue Lagoon, and sightsee in Reykjavik and felt that was a good choice. We didn't sightsee in Hafnarfjorthur.

I couldn't drive and couldn't figure out the bus system.
One tour promoter I asked gave me misinformation.
Hadn't thought about the shortness of daylight, probably would have enjoyed spring or summer better.

Hlid Fisherman's Village had lots of "viking" character with some very interesting maritime realia, close proximity to Icelandic horses, heritage chickens, a koi pond, cedar sauna and two rooftop hot tubs. The room was very clean, bed was comfortable and the view was to the sea.

We are use to very large rooms with kitchens in our hotel room. While we vacationed in Iceland we stayed at VRBO’s but we saw this unique hotel and had to stay here and experience it!
Loved walking around the hotel and the use of hot tub and sauna !!!

Perfect for those who like a mix of town and country - there was something to do for everyone! The scenery is exquisite with waterfalls, volcanos, craters, mountains, black sand beaches, seals and bird-life and in town a great mix of shopping, bars, restaurants and coffee shops. It’s easy to get around with a car. Recommend ‘Icelandic Street Food’ for traditional food and ‘Sandholt’ for hot chocolate and pastries ‘Loo Koo Mas’ for the most amazing mini donuts and ‘Mama Rykjavik’ for excellent vegan food.

Lovely little fishing village.
Lovely little fishing village. There is a couple supermarkets and some restaurants. There is a main bus stop 2 mins from the Viking Hotel which was so handy and the stop for the Flybus coach to the airport (approx £23 pp one way) was opposite the hotel which was super handy and you get a beautiful view of the harbour whilst you wait.
We got off 2 stops early from Reykjavík one day and walked back to explore and there were some lovely sights on the way. It’s a really nice place that’s neat and tidy. Probably wouldn’t need more than half a day wandering round but it’s nice to see the town.
