Vespucci Rooms & Apartament Eliana is a recently renovated guest house in Florence where guests can make the most of its garden and shared lounge. We had our flight cancelled in the evening so needed a place quickly and near the airport as we had a flight the next morning. Thankfully Vaspucci Rooms was able to out us up and everything was sorted very quickly and easily. The walk over is short but tough due to no crossings but you can get a tram which is safer. All in all it was a great experience and saved our evening.

Florence swept me off my feet from the moment we arrived. There’s something magical about simply wandering its streets—every corner seemed to open up into a piazza, a hidden café, or a glimpse of Renaissance architecture that felt straight out of a painting. The food was unforgettable. From rich pastas to simple panini enjoyed on the go, every meal felt like a little celebration. Even the gelato stops became part of our daily rhythm, and somehow each one tasted better than the last. Shopping was another highlight—whether it was browsing leather goods at the markets or window-shopping along the designer-lined streets, Florence offered a perfect mix of treasures and temptations. And then, of course, the architecture. Standing before the Duomo, walking across Ponte Vecchio at sunset, or just admiring the details carved into centuries-old buildings made me feel like the whole city was an open-air museum. What I loved most, though, was that balance between the grand and the everyday—one moment you’re staring up at Brunelleschi’s dome, the next you’re sitting at a little trattoria with a glass of Chianti, watching the world go by. Florence wasn’t just a trip; it was an experience that left me with memories I’ll hold onto forever.
The place I stayed was great, the owner was so sweet that she was willing to give me a ride to the train station by my departure. The breakfasts that she made was very delicious and at the time I needed (for Tuscany tour i needed to leave at 6:30am instead of regular breakfast at 7:30am) she prepared it for me. Only some minus I would give to a distance from the train station to the property. But from other hand it was a good exercise:)
Florence has changed over the years. The amount of leather vendors has more than tripled over the last decade. What used to feel unique and allowed for a better experience, now feels like walking down the city center in Playa Del Carmen. Peppered with the same vendors, sometimes RIGHT next to one another. The museums and other sites is what makes Florence 1000% times worth it to visit. In the 4 nights/5 days we were there - that wasn't nearly enough to experience and see what we wanted/needed to. I would love to go back again and spend another 5 days there before moving to the coast like we did this last time.
A beautiful, captivating city. Its art and architecture will overwhelm you with it's stunning beauty. The streets, piazzas, palazzo's and cathedrals allow you to step back in time to where craft and sumptuous wealth survive from the middle ages. Transportation is quite easy. We primarily used cabs because I have mobility issues. Be prepared for lots of walking and standing, but it is well worth it.
beautiful city full of history, lovely churches, palaces, museums and art gallery's. Great time of year to visit late September as less hot and less crowds. We went for 3 nights and managed to cover all of the main sites. Flew to Bologna 40 mins on Train to Florence. very easy and cheap to navigate. Book your train seat in advance.
It’s a city packed with beautiful art & amazing history but also packed with so many people & cars/motorcyles that it was hard to get from place to place and difficult for my partner & I to enjoy in the September heat.
