Located in Kirishima, 30 miles from Kagoshima Chuo Station, 湯治の宿妙見館 features views of the river. We only arrived late and left early - but we had a better time than expected! The staff was super nice and helpful, we went to Onsen very late and had basically a private onsen for us since it was so late, and the area looked super lovely. We wished we had more time but had to catch an early flight

This is very close to the airport (if you have a rental car) and is tucked away in a valley all by itself. We had room 7 facing the forest and we really enjoyed our stay. We found the owner to very friendly and we were able to have some good times there chatting with her. This is a simple husband and wife business and is not high end. The onsen is hot, which is great. There’s only about 10 cabins which is nice. It was very peaceful. We used this as a launch pad to other places and onsens in the kirishima area too.
