Location and Transport

Formerly Beirut International Airport, Rafic Hariri Airport is the only operational commercial airport in Lebanon. It is located 6 miles (9 kilometres) from central Beirut, in the southern suburbs, and is served by official airport taxis. These can be recognised by the airport logo on the car door. Prices should be around LBP 35, with the ride into town taking around 20 minutes.

The nearest hotels to Rafic Hariri Airport are in the centre of Beirut, which is roughly 3 miles (5 kilometres) away. Most of these hotels offer a shuttle service. There’s plenty to keep you occupied before takeoff, from duty-free shopping to Akle restaurant in Arrivals, as well as a Japanese seafood bar in Departures called SALT.
