Around Marrakech-Menara Airport
Location and Transport
Marrakech-Menara Airport is set just over 6 miles (10 kilometres) from the centre of Marrakech and the best way to get to or from the city is by taxi. This will take about 20 minutes and cost around MAD 190, but it’s best to agree on a fare with your driver before you set off. The public bus 11 runs between the old town’s Jemaa el-Fnaa square and the airport every 20–30 minutes.
Nearby Hotels and Airport Facilities
Are you looking for a place to stay? Most hotels are found closer to the city, and you’ll be able to find accommodation with shuttle buses within 2–3 miles (3–4 kilometres) of the airport. Travellers can access WiFi for a fee and the terminals also host a range of restaurants and shops, as well as ATMs and currency exchange. The airport is known for its striking form that blends contemporary with traditional Moroccan design and geometric patterns.
Terminal Information
The airport has two terminals which are housed within the same building, so they’re easily accessed from one to the other. Low-cost airlines tend to fly out of Terminal B.

10 Marrakech is an amazing city to visit.
7 December 2025
Marrakech is an amazing city to visit. The atmosphere is vibrant, the people are welcoming, and everything is easy to reach. You’ll find great restaurants, cafés, shops, and banks all around the city, and getting a taxi is always simple. Most areas are very walkable, and there’s always something beautiful to discover. Highly recommended for anyone looking for culture, good food, and a memorable experience

A beautiful combination of new and old, huge gaps between wealthy and poor (as all African countriees). The older part in the mountains were quaint with restaurants next to the river as far as the eye could see. Here it was very affordable to eat and it was in the outdoors. The Souks (old markets) scared me at first but people were friendly, not too pushy and even warned me that the zip of my backpack was open. I shall go back for sure.

10 I loved Marrakesh and enjoyed almost everything overall.
8 December 2025
I loved Marrakesh and enjoyed almost everything overall. However, there were two things I didn’t like: 1- Shopping & Bargaining Sellers tend to start with prices that are 4–5 times higher than the actual price of an item. This means you need to spend time bargaining—you can’t simply pay and buy something. It often turns into a lengthy negotiation, and at times, even when I liked something, I didn’t buy it because I was too tired to go through the negotiation process, and I lose my patience with sellers. Also, you can’t just browse casually; sellers will approach you and try to make a sale immediately, so not the best experience. 2 - Taxi Experience Taxi drivers often try to overcharge. For example, if a ride should cost 20 MAD, they might start negotiations at 200 MAD. Because of this, I mostly chose to walk to avoid these discussions. I also heard that InDrive is not considered a legal taxi app in Morocco, but it probably should be—unless taxi drivers become more transparent and honest with pricing. Otherwise, apps like InDrive will continue to gain traction as an alternative and trusted partners.

6.0 We stayed in the medina and went on trips.
8 December 2025
We stayed in the medina and went on trips. Wife hated it. It's so manic, chaotic. She don't feel safe, even on the guided walking tour. She didn't like the constant hassle from shopkeepers if you show the slightest interest. It's disorganised - We had to wait for a trip on a dirty, noisy road with unclear instructions and they were 25 minutes late. I totally understand if people think 'what did you expect'? But, honestly, it's wearing and we won't go back.

10 Marrakesh is a beautiful city with lots of history.

Marrakesh is a beautiful city with lots of history. It is clean and safe We ate at very nice places, some of them served wine. Alcohol is hard to find. The food was good. We did not eat at the food markets. Best way to see Marrakesh is with a tour guide. Our guide was Mehdi +212623033176. He speaks 5 languages and is extremely smart and sweet. we used him for the whole day. the YSL Museum and the Jardin Majorelle Gardens are beautiful, and you have to book your ticket online in advance. take advantage of the Hammam and a massage. Wander thru the Big Square and buy lots of spices.

10 Marrakesh is beautiful and vibrant.
11 December 2025
Marrakesh is beautiful and vibrant. My Riad was gorgeous. But mostly the people are amazing—so warm and helpful. I enjoyed communicating with them in their own language and just a few Moroccan Arabic words brought such smiles to the faces of the locals who would try to ensure you had a great stay. For solo females—I felt very safe (more than I expected). Highlights: Agafay desert, Atlas Mountain hike, Hot air balloon, do a food tour or try a cooking class to learn how to make tajine or just enjoy the marketplace and explore the labyrinthine Medina. And meet and hang out w Morrocan people. Very rewarding! And of course, make sure you always accept tea if offered. I would skip the Majorelle gardens (too crowded) and go to the more serene and peaceful Secret Garden. If you want a good henna check out the Henna Cafe—the ladies are wonderful there and bring them some books if you have extra.
