La estancia fue solo de paso para hacer cambio de vuelo, pero me dio tiempo gracias a la cercanía de la para de autobús a hacer un visita a La Valletta. Así que como estancia corta es mas que perfecto, mejor de lo esperado sin duda.

Birgu es una de las 3 ciudades frente a La Valetta. Está muy bien comunicada por ferry y autobús. De día hay movimiento de visitantes y al atardecer queda muy tranquilo, al menos en Abril que es cuando fuimos nosotros. Comimos un par de veces en restaurantes del centro de Birgu y muy buenos, además de comprar en las tiendas y el pan en una furgoneta.

Se trata de una localidad muy tranquila del sur de Malta. Está bien ubicada para recorrer la isla y a tan solo 30 min. en bus de La Valetta, con muy buena frecuencia de autobuses. El hotel está situado justo al lado de la plaza principal de la localidad (donde están el Ayuntamiento, la parroquia, policía, etc) y sí se echa de menos, siendo un lugar tan céntrico, un poco más de servicios en los alrededores de la plaza, pero se puede cenar perfectamente en cualquiera de los tres restaurantes allí ubicados.
