Located 7 miles (11 kilometres) away from Miraflores–Lima’s city centre–Jorge Chávez International Airport (also known as Lima International Airport) serves as Peru’s main international and domestic airport. It can be reached easily by taxi or public transport. You’ll find lots of taxi companies in the Arrivals area, where you can arrange your trip. The rate into Miraflores is fixed at PEN 50, with a journey time of 45 minutes. For a cheaper but slower alternative, take the Airport Express bus service, which runs every 30 minutes.
There is one hotel at Jorge Chávez Airport and several hotels within a few kilometres, with some offering a shuttle service. The airport has been modernised numerous times over the years, most recently in 2005, when the Peru Plaza Shopping Centre was constructed, along with an additional concourse area. There’s also a spa, VIP lounges, and luggage storage if you’d like to spend your time in between flights exploring the city.
