Beautiful beaches and close to the Redwoods. Arcada has a very cute town square with some very nice restaurants like Brio's Bakery. They have great pasteries, and wonderful a breakfast and lunch menu.

Trinidad is in a beautiful location on the ocean and in the redwoods. We like to go in the summer to escape the heat and be out in nature.
It is also home to the amazing Larrupin Cafe. This is a beautiful restaurant in a very unexpected location.
Arcata is only about 15 minutes away and is a funky little college town with good restaurants, brew pubs and a farmers market on Saturdays with outstanding organic and home grown produce.

People with open contauners in parking lot cooking and standing next to my vehicle like they own it. tv went out for no reason, key card kept locking us out making us go back to the front deask all the time. I do believe this was intenially done by management.

All the staff was very nice, easy check in was easy. Room was nice size and comfortable. There is no breakfast , just pastries in lobby, the restaurant opens at noon, you have to leave the hotel if you want breakfast. We ate in Alice's Restaurant in the casino and food & service was really good. We did not explore any of the area, except for going to Eureka for and afternoon. Ocean and the bay are about 10 minutes from hotel, lots of little quaint shopping is nearby towns. Plenty of hiking & biking trails. There is a lot to do in the area for families.

Nice little NorCal town with lots of places to eat (except perhaps on a Sunday evening). Close to several locations like Arcata, Eureka and Trinidad. Has all the required places like supermarkets, medical facilities, drug stores and fuel stations.

Murphy Market still has killer deli sandwiches. Enjoyed the gift shops across the street. There are 3 all very different in what they carry. I work with beads so was able to pick up some unique supplies I can't get online.
I was too busy with work and visiting friends that had I stayed longer would have enjoyed going to Moonstone Grill and Laripens. Also a nice walk down to the pier. Humboldt county is my happy place there is so much beauty and so many things to explore that are very unique to this area.

Restaurants were all over with food for every palate. The Redwoods are close. Elk viewing was close. Beaches were great, can’t blame the City for the cool weather. Camping and hiking opportunities were plentiful. We didn’t fish, but talked to several fishermen who came back with nice catches and or photos.

McKinleyville was not our original choice and it proved satisfactory but not exciting. We used it as a center for walks in the hills, beaches bird sanctuaries etc.It wqs basically a reasonable place to stay for a few days.

Trinidad is a small community (no fast food, movie theater, it's about nature's beauty). We loved the nearby parks with giant Redwoods, sitting by the ocean (it's cool wear long sleeves), enjoyed watching the ocean from one of the Inn's nice decks with a glass of wine.

Arcata/Eureka/McK/Fortuna/Redcrest were the cities visited and I resided in while awaiting closure of my new HOME. Love, love, love Arcata. Got lost two (2) times (due to compass, mainly). Solved that this a.m. (purchase on ebay.com) Yeah.
