The gentleman at the front desk, I believe his name is Jesse, was extremely hospitable. I made a mix up on our days we needed and he was able to sort it for us. He also was more than accommodating when it came to our room. It may not have been a big deal to him but his kindness meant a lot. We appreciate him!

I always enjoy coming to the Puffin Inn. Everyone is always so friendly even when things get overwhelming or hectic. I loved that when my plane came in earlier than expected, the front desk associate didn't keep me waiting and placed me in an available room. The room was super big for just me BUT I remained thankful and just stayed in the space and kept it neat. First time I was on the 3rd floor and was excited to have access to an elevator.

This is the quietest hotel in Anchorage! I slept fantastic! I requested a soft pillow and was happy to find a plethora of pillows in my room for me to choose from! I left so early, I didn't get a chance to thank them. Thank you for the great rest!!

The location could not have been better. 10 minutes from airport and a few minutes from city center. The neighborhood was nice and felt safe and you entered house via keypad. The house was very well appointed and very clean. Nice for kids as well with fenced in backyard and wild raspberries and strawberries. Nice coffee machine with coffee. Would highly recommend!!

Location and Transport
Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport is located just over 6 miles (10 kilometres) from the centre of Anchorage, which you can reach by People Mover bus in 35 minutes. There are departures every half hour from 06:00 until 23:00. A taxi will take about 20 minutes and cost around USD 24.

On our bucket list. Beautiful beautiful. Wife and I rented a car and even drove 8 hrs round trip one day to Denali on a whim. 3 grizzlies just came up and started walking on the road 1 car ahead of us. That long trip was worth it. I would plan places to go though. We did the train from Anchorage to Seward and then back which takes an entire day. That was a little long. Just one way would have been fine but since we were staying in Anchorage..... We did see the Turnagain Arm numerous times just because we were driving south to different places but the view never got old. It was gloomy and off and on rainy half the time but that was expected because of the time we were there - Aug 30 - Sep 6. We did get out a lot because of having a rental car. If doing a cruise then I guess you will have to rely on the excursions only. We did get to see lots of things and were in no rush. We drove thru the tunnel to Whittier. Seen the Salmon swimming upstream near the Portage Glacier. Went to Alyeska Resort as part of an excursion and had lunch at a gut truck parked just outside of Girdwood Brewing. Also the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center was awesome.

The breakfast was outstanding and the staff was so friendly and helpful. The bar was small but the bartender makes excellent margaritas. We didnt order a meal from the hotel, but everyone we talked to said it was very good.
Its centrally located and we could get everywhere with a $13 uber. The rooms are great and the shower is outstanding. Was very clean. We didnt seem to have the homeless in our area, like other areas of ANC.
