Location and Transport
San Francisco International Airport is located 13 miles (21 kilometres) from downtown San Francisco. BART Rapid Rail runs regular trains into the city centre, taking around 30 minutes, while Millbrae Station (accessed via BART) offers hourly services to San Jose. A taxi will cost between USD 47 and 60 and take about 20 minutes.
Nearby Hotels and Airport Facilities
You’ll find hotels scattered around the terminals, many with their own shuttle service, while some hotels can be found closer to Millbrae Railway Station. Besides the shops, numerous eateries and mini-spas, the airport packs in an aviation museum filled with memorabilia, as well as a library, a kid’s plane-themed area and a vast, frequently updated art collection. Need some quiet time? Check in to the reflection or yoga rooms, or catch a short film or documentary in the main hall of the international terminal.
Terminal Information
There are five terminals, all connected by the free-to-use, 24-hour AirTrain which also runs to the car parks and to the BART Rapid Rail station. Catching a connecting flight at San Francisco will require travellers to pass through immigration - a passport, visa or ESTA may be necessary.
