PortugalWe really enjoyed our stay in Mambruk.
We were looking for a relaxed place, driving distance from Jakarta, for me to recover from a long flight and jet lag.
Mambruk offers a quiet accommodation setting, with beautiful lush gardens and walking grounds.
The pool is long and wide, and the gym is well equipped - however, the cable weight machine needs replaced.
The breakfast was one of the best and most complete I've ever had in any hotel in many years of trips.
The staff is very friendly.
The private beach and general area are well maintained, and offer spectacular views to Krakatoa and the Sumatra-Java straight.
There are many restaurant options around.
End of August is probably a good time to go, with what I would say is around 50% or less occupation.
It's also driving distance to many other beaches around, like main Anyer, Carita, as well as hiking hills and waterfalls - which we decided not to do due to lack of time, but will be back for.
