Great location, great rooms, and an amazing view from the balcony just across from the ocean. Hashan and the staff at Hotel Sanmark were such great people and were inctedibly helpful all the way from when I landed in Sri Lanka to when I left, organising airport pick up and drop off, scooter rental, and even a home-cooked meal. The food is incredible, breakfast was a feast of fresh food. Breakfast included is highly recommended. The staff were exceptional with accommodating our requests without hesitation. One person of excellence was Sandhu bending over backwards for us and his service was amazing. The location was clean. Plenty of restaurants in the area to explore. The beach directly in front of the resort is not safe but the beach just to the right is easily accessible.

Everything about this place was exceptional. The staff were very nice and welcoming. Great pool, right in front of the beach. The breakfast was by far my best buffet experience, offering both variety and delicious food. I didn't really need to go out much because this place has it all!

Phoenix House is the most lovely accommodation I have had the privilege of staying at in Sri Lanka! The place has such style and charm - being both a serene little haven and still only a short walk from many shops and cafes. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The owners and staff are so friendly and accommodating, and the on-site chef makes incredible food cooked with love. There are healing practices on offer as well as beautiful events to partake in, and the rooftop space is wonderful to relax, do yoga or watch sunset. The place is peaceful and close to nature without being too far away from activities - the beach is right across the road. I would definitely recommend Phoenix House as a place to stay if you want a tranquil getaway in a welcoming and uplifting environment 💛
