I had a fantastic experience at Guesthouse Aurora. The location is perfect — close to the city center but still in a quiet and peaceful area. The room was clean, cozy, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with tips or directions. Everything was super easy and well-organized. I felt very welcome and at home here. I highly recommend this guesthouse to anyone visiting Reykjavík — I would definitely stay again!

Perfect location, easy walking distance from the center, and a really cosy, local vibe overall. Upon arrival we were greeted with a personal welcome letter explaining where to find our room and other tips about the house and the area. The bed was super comfortable, and when I complimented on it the next morning, the manager told me they just changed the mattresses to brand new ones. Easy to walk to breakfast places and bakeries in the morning and restaurants in the evening, easy parking in the streets nearby. There was even a local gallery opening just around the corner during our stay! We booked this place for our first night before going on a road trip in Iceland, and because we enjoyed it so much, we decided to book it again for our last night as well, before we took our plane back home. We would gladly stay here again in the future!

I was only one night but had everything I needed. Is easy to park and the neighborhood is beautiful and quiet.The house is what you expect for a "Icelandic traditional house" and perfect for those we don't want a hotel chain. They provide everything they say at the expected quality (or higher). I did not say anything about their WiFi because I did not need to use their WiFi. Otherwise, late check in at 2AM was not a problem, they provided clear instructions: key code to enter reception at Freyjugata 24 to pickup the key of the building and room where I had to go and a plan of their buildings at Freyjugata and Njardgata streets. Towels were provided at the reception when they opened, at 7:30AM. Everything was clean. Breakfasts were good, abundant good quality food. Hot water radiators really hot, so the small high window that staid open for ventilation in the showers room was not a problem. Microwave, fridge and electric tea kettle in the room were functional. Plates and silverware were also provided in the room. One toilet per floor (3 rooms) but it was not a problem for me, I only staid 1 week and I was still "operating" according to the time zone I come from.
