The family who own the property are incredibly kind and helpful with anything you might need while you’re in Marissa. I loved the simple designed room. They felt spacious and clean. I had to make an important video call while I was staying there and the WiFi worked perfectly. Also the rooms are sealed up so it’s pretty much impossible to get mosquitos in there unless you leave the door open.

Stayed here 2 days. Wish we stayed longer. The location is amazing, quiet but very close to the beach. The room is very spacious and very nice. The outdoor bathroom was the biggest selling point. The lady that owns it is SUPER nice.

The Surf Lodge is beautifully decorated with a lot of love and taste. It offers amazing breakfast and a direct access to the beach. It is managed by the super kind Che who was always very attentive to help us organize a few things around the area. What we particularly loved about the hotel (apart from the amazing spacious rooms and the delicious (vegetarian) food) was that it is Che’s family home and has such a friendly and calming vibe :) it’s only a short walk to local restaurants and bars and Madiha’s main beach is also only a few minutes away. We appreciated their kindness and generosity so much. They went out of our way to make our stay in Matara lovely. The room is extremely affordable and has all you need as a budget traveller!

Had a wonderful relaxing weekend here. Beautiful view of the sea in the room, which had a gorgeous bathroom. Amazed by the extraordinary architecture of the house. The breakfast was exceptional, one of the best I've had in SL. There is also a little shop in the building for luxury linen items. You are right on the beach and walkable to the nearby turtle bay, and close to dickwella and hiriketiya.
