An extra special recommendation to Manuel, recommended as our guide to summit Pico, by Léa at Eco Fundo. He was knowledgeable, patient, good humored, professional, and very generously kind. We had a great stay here. Great hot shower too!

The little town within the crater is a very special place and Casa Helena was the perfect place for us to stay. Communication in advance was already great because our questions about transfer and guide were immediately answered in a very friendly way. We were picked up at the airport in the morning and dropped in Sao Felipe for a stroll where we also bought some snacks. Around midday we were then taken to the accommodation. The drive was a public aluguer which made the transfer so much cheaper and the drives in the aluguers were always highlights during our time on Cabo Verde! We also already met our guide Marcello for the Volcano hike and he was great, too. Good English, super friendly and flexible. We were able to ask him all our questions! And listening to the stories of the 2014 eruption as well as life at such a special place was very valuable. We stayed for a few nights and it was one of the most impressive places on earth that we have ever seen. We really enjoyed going running, hiking, strolling and biking (we rented bikes at the Marisa hotel which was expensive but the bikes were incredibly good). The room was in one of the traditional round houses with a bathroom and had everything that we needed! Also the food was delicious and everyone was wonderful and friendly!! Thank you so much for this absolute highlight of our holiday and for taking such good care of us! An additional plus: the CHA wine! So good!

Reasonable price, clean room and very welcoming and helpful host Rose. Basic but decent breakfast (I ask it to serve at 6am before the hiking Fogo, and it was there exactly at time). The wifi is available outside the house, 20 metres in front of the hotel, close to the restaurant

Attention , food, accommodation, internet (taking in account the house is in a remote place). They really care about you. I've never felt so welcomed! :) Alcindo is also the best guide to Pico do Fogo you could ever have.

Villages on the lava field in caldera is incredible. Jose is super host. He organize pick up, cooking, tours around island. They brothers are very good gidės to climb to volcano. My big thanks to Felix. I would reccomend to stay there min. 2 nights.

Great location, at the foot of the volcano and in the middle of the village. If you choose to eat there, food is really great and you are welcome at the host’s.

This beautiful guesthouse is situated on a hill above town, with beautiful views and a nice breeze. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is amazing- an extravaganza of fresh fruits, bread, island jams, fruit juices, pancakes, eggs, cereal, fresh goat cheese from a local farm, cake, and yogurt. I am probably forgetting some items. We had dinner with Pipi as well, and it was fabulous. Pipi is a great cook. Everything was delicious. The guesthouse serves meals on a flowery terrace overlooking the bay. You hear the birds sing all day long here. Walking to Sao Filipe took us about 15 min, and we enjoyed being slightly out of the main town. The airport is a 5-10 min walk. I really liked this place and would stay here again.

Ze and Sonia were super nice, friendly and accommodating. They could speak French relatively well. The room is simple but functional. The meals prepared were very delicious. The WiFi was good to work from there, and in case, the 4G antenna is located nearby. Absolutely recommended!

I lived the old colonial time house, which was transformed into the hotel. Renovation is really well done which preserves the spirit of the building and is very atmospheric. Emmanuel, chef of staff is very friendly and helpful. He also makes great cocktails! Best place to stay in Sao Filipe.

Το Pensão Repouso Alegre Turismo e Aventura παρέχει καταλύματα σε Portela με θέα στο βουνό και διαθέτει κήπο και βεράντα. Exceptional! Such an amazing place and hosts. Jose and Socorro have been amazing with us all around. Jose built the place himself out of lava rock. Don't expect luxury and you won't be disappointed, you're on a volcano after all. They guided us to the top of the volcano and back, accompanied us around the area and drove us back to Sao Felipe on a sunday, when no collectivos are running. A magic place, super energetic and positive hosts, great cooks and helpful hosts.
