What a great find. Castlepollard may not be on every tourist map yet, but it will be soon! There has recently been significant investment in this hotel and it shows; well appointed, spotless rooms, an excellent bar and restaurant, and a great team to make sure you feel right at home.

My partner and I absolutely loved our stay. When we arrived in the evening, all the lights were on in every room, which made the house feel alive, warm, and incredibly cosy. It was such a magical welcome. The house was nicely heated, and we were delighted to find butter and scones waiting for us, which we enjoyed straight away. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need: plenty of utensils, cups, pots, and a beautiful range cooker with multiple gas rings. There were also various groceries and sauces in the cupboard, though we didn’t need them as we brought our own food. The bedrooms were spotless, with fresh-smelling sheets and towels, and little vases of freshly picked flowers and mint from the garden added such a thoughtful touch throughout the house. The surroundings were mesmerising, with sheep and cattle in the neighbouring fields. We went on some lovely walks, but honestly, we enjoyed the cosiness and quaint charm of the house most of all. Communication was excellent. We were sent all the information we needed and encouraged to get in touch if anything came up. We truly had a wonderful time and would happily stay again! It genuinely felt like home from the moment we walked in. A big thank you to Eóin and his partner for the wonderful experience and for opening their home to us.

Nice and clean room with a big bathroom. You can use the kitchen where coffee and tea is provided. Its absolutely worth for the price! Karl is a perfect host, we stayed just for one night but would book again any time!

Our stay was an absolute delight! This hidden gem nestled in the picturesque countryside. The mornings were filled with the melodious sound of birds singing, and the peaceful neighborhood ensured a restful night's sleep. Our hosts were incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. The highlight for our furry friend was the expansive green area where dog could run and play freely. Our amiable host Anne went out of her way to make our (too short) stay pleasant. We got a welcoming tea right upon our arrival and found our room to be not only pretty, but with very comfy beds and mattresses, a sparkling clean room and bathroom and lots of nice extras like hand lotion. The Irish breakfast was outstanding, it was our first one in this country and Anne had everything prepared freshly, even the bread was home-baked by her. The rural area makes for a wonderful deep sleep and we will definitely recommend this place and top on our list of places to stay again and for longer then! It is a very warm and welcoming house that displays genuine Irish spirit and a tasteful decoration all over, too!
