I visited Rapa Nui for two nights in December 2024 and Kitai Cabanas was really the best place to stay and made my short trip wonderful. The hosts are lovely persons and make the guests to feel welcome. Even before arrival communication was great and all questions have been answered quickly. Pick up at the airport was included and drop off at departure as well. The cottage is spacious, clean and a fully eqipped kitchen (which I did not use though, as Kitai Cabanas is next to many good restaurants). Water dispender is in the room, which was convinient. Room, bath and kitchen have been clean and I had a nice terrace with garden view. There are many lovely cats arround. Bed was comfortable. Wifi worked well. I booked also an island tour with the hosts and Kevin is an excellent guide. Very knowlegable about the history and culture of Rapa Nui.

The accommodation provides airport transfers, while a car rental service is also available. The location of the house is a 15 minute walk from the town. The property is a small family owned cabin. It is a cute cabin with everything you need including a kitchenette. The property lies in a tropical green garden. The hosts Lucy and Juan are great. Lucy picked us up from the airport with flower garlands and gave us a short tour and introduction of the island. She also gave us recommendations for where to eat and tour guides. And the end of our stay Juan drove us to the airport with no extra charge. All in all, a place where you feel welcomed and are well taken care of.

Great location, close to everything, restaurants, minimarket and just a ten minute walk to see sunset at Ahu Tahai. Host helped prepare breakfast for us in a picnic basket with hot coffee and sandwiches when we went to see sunrise in the morning, definitely highly recommended!

Each room is fitted with a flat-screen TV with cable channels. It is very clean and well equipped . They supply the toilet tissues and water very often . It is close to the beach and can watch stars . Eating outside the balcony can have good views . The house owner is very kind to give us free pick up from the airport .

Breakfast was a feast and delicious. Our tour with Miguel was informative and very fun. The hotel is new and very nice! It’s a quick ride to the Main Street with lots of yummy food and things to do. Juan is a stellar taxi driver, too. Everyone was friendly and would highly recommend! They even went out of the way to help my husband surf.

They hooked us up with an awesome tour at a great price and best of all they gave us a flower lei when we arrived and a cute necklace when we left. I cannot recommend this hostel enough!

We absolutely loved our time at Maria Hau Cabanas, the room was perfect and in such an amazing location, right by the sea and close to town. Maria’s son greeted us at the airport and made sure we were looked after our whole trip, thank you for such an amazing time. Cannot recommend enough!
