There is a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay. The guest house also offers free WiFi, free private parking and facilities for disabled guests. This was our second visit to Mailagama Cinnamon Residence and we were truly happy to see again the owners of the hotel, Indira and her husband. The hotel is located in a picturesque place among green rice fields. We loved walking around the area - there are large lakes nearby, and there are few people around, but an incredible number of peacocks. A real kingdom of peacocks. The room was clean and spacious, with a balcony with a great view. There was also a big shared terrace to work online or to do yoga. The fans helped to cope with the heat, which was important for us. We really liked the Srilankan food at the hotel - delicious and served with great elegance. Manager Inbaraj was always attentive and helped us with any questions. On his advice, we visited two temples - Rock Temple where you can see dozens of funny monkeys and Kataragama Maha Devalaya. Both places are interesting and atmospheric, especially the latter, which is famous for its festivals throughout the country. We hope to come back here next year to see the beauty of the nature and to feel the special friendly atmosphere.

This is one of the best stays. Place is absolutely beautiful and exceeded our expectations. We booked the cabana with the private pool and facilities of that was extremely satisfying. Special comment should be given on the customer care of the entire staff including the management. They paid attention to every bit of our requests. Food was delicious. We will definitely visit again.

A flat-screen TV with satellite channels, as well as a computer are featured. This was the best hospitality we received in Sri Lanka. It is a lovely family business, located in nature and very close to the famous Budurugawala rock carvings. Shalika and his family are perfect hosts. The cabin is great and the environment is very peaceful. The beds were really comfortable and super clean. The food they served is amazing and they the ingredients are harvested by the hosts. It was an amazing experience. They also provide transportation service. Highly recommended!

Situated in Galgamuwa in the Monaragala District region, Redstone Cottage Gal Oya has a terrace and mountain views. There is an in-house restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. Outdoor seating is also available at the campground. This was honestly one of the most welcoming and thoughtful places we’ve ever stayed. From the moment we arrived, Sydney and his team looked after us so well. The chef asked what we fancied and was very accommodating. He cooked the most amazing curry, lunch and honey hoppers for breakfast (which we were introduced to and absolutely loved). They even gave us a packed lunch for our elephant boat safari, which they organised, along with a great driver. There were little extra touches that made such a different, like beers in the fridge when we arrived (and they went to get more when we ran out), a cooking class with a local family, a really interesting forest walk with an indigenous guide and when we asked if we could do some laundry they sorted it for us with no trouble at all. The cottage is in a beautiful, quiet spot with amazing Mountain View’s, a perfect place to switch off. Would highly recommend supporting this amazing project. Such a great experience 😊😊
