We really enjoyed how we have been integrated, we felt just like another member of the family. We were looking for an authentic experience to spend aluth aruvudu (Buddhist new Year) and we could not have dreamed of something better than the few days we lived at the SNF. After 1month and a half we have never experienced this kind of welcome elsewhere. The whole family is very open minded, intelligent, sensitive, curious but what probably touched us the most is their willingness to share everything: Food (of course) but also what life learned them in general whether it is practical skills like cooking, cutting a coconut, observing nature or more "soft skills" like their view on life and their wisdom. We hope to come back as we know this was a unique and special experience.

This was a little piece of jungle paradise. With home cooked meals, fantastic views and wonderfully accommodating staff we could not ask for more.

A cool and relaxing place in the hills but only 10 mins by tuk-tuk from the city, up narrow and winding roads which add to the feeling of 'getting away from it all'. Very friendly and helpful staff. A member of staff who drives the property's tuk-tuk also built much of the garden and is rightfully proud of it. Beautiful living room and bedroom. Excellent views over the hills. Massive local breakfast.

We really enjoyed the food and the location, the Lodge is lost among paddy fields, mountains, palm trees and beautiful small villages. The room was really confortable it has a nice terrasse and a stunning view on their beautiful garden where we saw peacocks passing by and also a lot of caméléon and beautiful lézards The family is also very kind and we could enjoy a new year party with them, playing games with kids, sharing food and observing fireworks! Waji speaks amazing French! .

Excellent Breakfast Reliable and worth the money spent This is a fantastic bungalow to stay very convenient to the central areas in kandy. This was truly a hidden gem, we loved everything about our stay at Kandy River Lodge. The apartment was spotless with essentials for cooking if required. The view of the river from the balcony was beautiful. The host had water bottles tea and coffee available to us and offered us a complimentary transport from the train station. The host was available to help with any requests and very responsive. If you are staying in Kandy I would definitely recommend staying at Kandy River Lodge. If we get the opportunity to come back to Kandy we would definitely book again
