Kingfisher Lodge was perfect for our stay. We were a group of eight, having three bathrooms was fantastic, the house was super clean and so well appointed, it had everything we needed. Communication was fantastic and we were able to arrange a slightly early checkin and checkout which was much appreciated.

Wow! Everything! It was modern, clean, very well equipped, fresh bread on arrival, complimentary feed for the farm animals, comfy beds with heated blankets, under floor heating in the bathroom, beautifully landscaped, views from many of the rooms, we really couldn't have asked for more.

OMG the view! Handsdown it has the best view of Lake Tekapo. It was like HDTV from every angle. Waking up with that gorgeous view every morning already set one up to a great start of the day Check in was painless. In & out from the office in 5 mins ie made payment, had a quick briefing from the friendly office staff (have I mentioned how friendly I find the Kiwis are, brilliant!) & got my house key. Check out ? Just dropped the key into the key box outside admin building. Easy peasy.. The lodge has everything a family need. There were 3 of us but villa easily fits 8 pax. Beds are heated, washrooms have heaters, kitchen is fully equipped, has indoor garage but we preferred to park our car during the day at the back patio with direct access to the kitchen. Functioning washer & dryer that were so easy to use. And we had fun trying out burning the logs at the fireplace at night (first timer coming from a tropical country here) Had a leisurely late afternoon stroll at the meadow just off the backyard of the lodge. Beautiful landscape, therapeutic to the senses Best of all, on the 2nd night the sky was pitch black perfect for stargazing. It was mind boggling to be able to see the milky way constellation from our front porch. Definitely an experience to cherish .

Room was very spacious and was incredibly comfortable. Huge comfy bed, huge TV, well stocked room with a kettle and tea, mini fridge, hairdryer. The view apparently was nice but the weather didn't let us enjoy it - first it was too foggy, later we had snow and couldn't even see the mountains at that point haha but the room was so cozy it wasn't an issue.
