In a quieter area but close to restaurants and one of the beaches is only 2 min walk away. Brand new hotel. Everything very clean and well kept. Very nice breakfast. Very nice and helpful staff. Pool big enough to do some lengths from 10-19:00.

We stayed in November so we were totally aware it was out of...

We stayed in November so we were totally aware it was out of season and there would be limited options. We enjoyed the quiet streets and there was still a small selection of restaurants open. We also went swimming, the water was cool but still enjoyable. For us Ksamil was perfect in November but I would caution that you must be prepared for a very relaxing and quiet experience.

Ksamil is emerging as a tourist destination & the centre of the town at least seems to have opted to cater for those who prefer loud music / water activities on the beaches. That said, there is a good selection of bars & restaurants both in the centre of the town and on the main road into it. The hotel in which we stayed (Area Hotel) was excellent. Public transport is ok - there is a bus every 30 mins to Sarande or Butrint BUT it is packed & an experience in itself! Fares are 150 Lek (1.5 euro) each way. Taxis are available but cost approx 30 euro each way. Although card payment is accepted in most restaurants / hotels etc, it seems as though cash is king in Albania. Local currency (Lek) can be accessed once you're in the country by changing euro at one of the many exchanges.

Ksamil is a very beautiful resort with numerous stunning beaches and crystal-clear azure waters. There are plenty of quality restaurants offering delicious food at reasonable prices. The only drawback is that almost all beach spots are paid, meaning you need to pay for sunbeds and umbrellas. The cheapest spots started at around €15 for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella, while more premium locations charged €30 to €40 per set. Luxury cabana-style spots could cost up to €70 per day. Almost everywhere accepted euros, so it was not necessary to exchange money into the local currency. Alternatively, you could pay in euros and receive change in the local currency (Albanian lek). On average, €1 was equivalent to about 95–96 lek.

The beaches are extremely beautiful and clean.

The beaches are extremely beautiful and clean. Renting sunbeds/umbrellas can be quite pricy. If you go in the afternoon they would charge you the same price on some beaches. Driving in Ksamil can be quite hectic. The streets are quite narrow and not all the streets have pavements and on streets where they are present either they are taken up by shops or else the people do not use the land walk in the middle of the road. Be careful if you are driving there especially during rush hour and parking is not easy. The restaurants are really good. We tried a lot of them and the food is delicious and most of them have very reasonable prices. We were always treated nicely from the staff.

The people are amazing.

The people are amazing. They are all friendly and acomodating, and almost everyone speaks great english. The food is delicious! We went to several restaurants and all the food is great. Butrint national park is a must see. Although I highly recommend going there early (before 10 AM) to get a parking spot. Otherwise you will park 1 km-2km away and walk in the sun. The infrastructure is horrible. There are too many hotels and the roads are narrow and there are no or very little sidewalks. It is dangerous to walk around with small children because in august it was filled with cars that were driving too fast on those roads. Driving inside Ksamil and between Ksamil and Saranda is a nightmare.

Beautiful beaches and nature but overcrowded. We would not come back in July or August again. September could work. Roads are crazy and cannot cope with amount of tourists. Again, could be perfect in September.

The hotel is located close to the highway, that is a huge plus if you come by car and don't want to drive through traffic in Ksamil - the city is so small that you will walk to the beach for few minutes only. Spacious parking. The room was clean. Check in was fast and easy. We payed in cash. Good air conditioning in the room, which is essential in hot Albanian summer. Those traveling by bus will also like proximity of the bus stop (bus Saranda - Ksamil - Butrint), which is straight across the road. A lot of markets and shops around.

The staff was super friendly and welcoming, they attended all our requests and even helped with parking the car. The breakfast had good variety, just the fruits could be better. The view of the pool was stunning, great to see the sunset from there. The restaurant in the hotel is excellent, we went there three times during our stay. The food is unmatched, best meals we did in Albania. Location is great, walking distance to the beaches in the centre of Ksamil and bars too.

In general the apartment is good. It has new facilities, a small fridge, a tv, air conditioning The parking lot is definitly a plus! it's impossible to park in ksamil. I had some trouble driving at night in the roads in Albanian. They are kind of dangerous and i arrived really late at the apartment because i was driving really slow. But they accepted my late check-in which was really nice The location of the apartment is good, is very close to the beaches

The hotel is in a really good location. It’s close to the sea (and best beaches) and near many of the restaurants but is on a quiet road and really peaceful. There are lovely views of the sea and islands too. The hotel itself is really clean and modern with comfortable beds and good facilities. Nice to have a dip in the pool after a day sightseeing or coming back from the beach. Staff are all really friendly and breakfast good.
