Charming with a Medieval Twist

Surrounded by lush forestry and the Austrian Alps, the picturesque and cosmopolitan city of Graz offers pretty Renaissance courtyards, diverse architecture, a charming and historic old town, along with winding Mur River which runs through the heart of the city.

Graz’s vast history and architecture is on show beyond the fortified Old Town which is lined with cobblestoned streets, red rooftops, medieval houses, and famous landmarks such as Graz Clock Tower, Kunsthaus Graz, Graz Opera House and the 15th-century Burg.

Beyond the mountains of Grazer Schlossberg stand the Chateau Eggenberg and Herz Jesu Kirche. Graz has several popular entertainment areas, in particular the popular square Hauptplatz which features several cafés, bars, restaurants and shops.

Due it its many universities, Graz has a large student population which brings with it an energetic nightlife and a vibrant art scene. It has several interesting museums like the Alte Galerie.

Booking.com has a large choice of accommodation in and around Graz. Thalerhof Airport and Graz Hauptbahnhof offer links to many major European cities such as Vienna, Ljubljana, Zagreb and Munich.

All European towns have some similarities but each town has some own unique features and qualities to soke it properly we should do deep traveling in each town and capture the beauty and the people around But the most important problem is all museums and other places to see have a very high ticket value which may seem very costly for some tourists

Graz is a beautiful city with plenty to see in a relatively compact area. We were lucky and arrived during a festival weekend. Many locals were in national dress. The many squares in town had food stalls and every type of musical entertainment from oompah bands to acapella. Take the footpath, lift or funicular to the top of the hill with the clock tower to get great views across the city.

    Graz is stunning.

Graz is stunning. We came here as a stop gap going on to Slovenia but it was outstanding. We loved all the shops and pretty restaurants. We found a square where there was live music and lots of locals having drinks from food and drink stands. Was such a lovely atmosphere. Full of history and plenty things to visit.

Great city with lots to see. Nice cafes and restaurants. Beautiful view from the clock tower. Easy to get around especially if you like walking. The armory was amazing. Food and staff were great at Glöckl Brau!

Graz is a buzzing and vibrant historic city that we have visited before, On this occasion we were just stopping overnight on our journey back to UK so the quiet hotel " in the woods" up in the hills was ideal for that. Anyone visiting the city but wanting to stay in a quiet spot , with a nearby tram stop for quick access in , would enjoy staying in this hotel.

Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,387 reviews
Very quiet location in Graz, a little bit away from the city centre, but well connected with tram, the station is some 10 minutes walking distance. Free parking. Great restaurant with Austrian cuisine. Our room was in the separated object Sonne, 5 minutes walking distance from the main object with reception and restaurant. The hotel is equipped in vintage style, it feels like you're at someone's home. There is a minibar in the room with cold drinks.

Host was very kind and she warmly welcomed us which made the start of our trip even better! She gave us needed information and was very helpful!Accomodation is very cozy and clean, what made us amazed the most was how peaceful and quiet it was but at the same time the center of Graz was 5 6 minute walk from the acommodation itself If we come back to Austria again we will surely choose this place again! It was beautiful

We loved everything about the facility, central location nearer to restaurants and shopping and all places of interest. We liked the clean rooms, towels, kitchenette. We liked the small town atmosphere though Graz is the second largest city in Austria.

The location of the hotel is perfect if you are just passing by Austria. We also liked the fact that it is a contactless checking, so we were not pressured by the arrival time and we could check in anytime we wanted. Rooms are spacious and quite clean.
