Set in the rock making the apartment naturally cool in the summer. The area is protected by a fence so the kids won’t risk running onto the road. Really quiet campsite making the stay ideal for families with children. Nearby swimming area with padel and beach volleyball courts and play area. The pond is 5m deep, however has 60cm deep zone for the kids. The owner is really helpful and caring which makes the whole experience as feel-like-home. The kitchen and bathroom are separate from the apartment but since the place is so quiet it makes no complication. There is kids play area in the kitchen with a lot of toys.

We spent here only one night as a sleepover on a long drive, but I can imagine this place to be great for longer stops too. The apartment was very comfortable, and HUGE. Very good value for money. The host was also very friendly and helpful. Some of the facilities were not in an ideal condition (e.g. the coffee machine, or the slight unpleasant odor in the bathroom), but overall we had a fantastic experience. We would not hesitate to stop here again in the future.

Grein is a lovely little, quiet town on the Danube with a beautiful old town and charming restaurants where you can sit and enjoy yourself for hours. In some places, you could even linger longer (just not at the Pension Donaublick).

A beautifully situated spot on the Danube with very little through traffic. Ideally suited for cyclists as a base for one or more nights. The ferry service for cyclists from the left to the right bank of the Danube is fantastic, allowing you to avoid the busy road on the north side.

Great staff, nice room, and excellent food. The lady of the house, who also runs the kitchen, even explained how she prepared the dish we ate! Where else do you find that?

Grein is located directly on the Danube and is a good base...

Grein is located directly on the Danube and is a good base for one or two nights for a Danube cycling tour between Passau and Vienna. Everything you need is available locally, such as an ATM, restaurants, and cultural attractions like a castle tour.

A beautiful historical place that you should definitely...

A beautiful historical place that you should definitely visit on your bike tour to Vienna, even if it means taking a four-kilometer detour (the southern bank is highly recommended for continuing your journey and the bridge is one or two kilometers before Grein).

We were on a bike trip, and liked having the locked garage in which to overnight our bikes. The rooms are comfortable and clean. No coffee or tea making facilities or frig in the room, but an excellent breakfast. The hotel was in the center of the lovely town of Grein but very quiet. Very close to the bike ferry which we used.

Property was well presented and the breakfast was good. The manager was waiting for us at the street to welcome us into the hotel. There were nice touches such as the self service bar area and wash room. Good facilities for cyclists
