122 on Charlotte aka The Old Bank is a wonderful base to explore the Cooktown region and part of the history of the town. The large bed in our room could have kept us in it all day it was so comfortable and Tania made sure we had everything we needed and more for a relaxed and cruisy New Years break. With so many spots to explore and such delightful and historic accomodation we aim to be back as soon as possible!

It is a very nice small town with lots of places to visit...

It is a very nice small town with lots of places to visit nearby. A four-wheel drive would be a better option to reach some locations, like Elim Beach with its coloured sands. The esplanade is amazing both at sunrise and sunset. Botanical Garden and Grassy Hill are other places to visit.

My advice would be to hire a car in Cairns and drive the 3.5 hours to Cooktown. We walked, but were restricted by the town limits. Within a 75km radius of Cooktown you are able to access 'the bigger picture' of Cooktown.

Cooktown is a beautiful town with a lot of history. The museums are very interesting and there is a good choice of places to eat. Shipwreck was a great restaurant/ cafe with friendly staff and great food.

Wonderful scenic location with excellent historical sites well mapped out. A must to feel the vibes and history in the foundation place of Australia. A great feel about the community who seem to get on fabulously. A must visit of 3 days or longer

The botanic gardens are a must.

The botanic gardens are a must. The separately themed gardens are well chosen. The James Cook museum is very interesting. If you don't want to go on a cruise or go fishing there's not much to do.

Very nice place museum was overpriced for a bit of captain cook info and the damn wind never stops but nice lunch at lawn bowls club in main street was very easy nice and tasty. Plenty of things to see all on main street so easy parking and walking track along waters edge. Waterpark and Music ship for the younger ones or ones that want to be young again.

Perfect in every way. Our room was spotlessly clean, modern and extremely spacious. The outdoor area, along with the room, was beautiful and perfectly designed to relax and take in the superb panoramic views over Cooktown, the sunset, and Endeavour River. The photos don't do it justice. Terri is a lovely host. 100% perfect.

We loved the peace & quiet of the property. The property is located on a hill just out of town ( Cooktown is not a large place) The accommodation was immaculately clean & very comfortable & roomy. It has quite a colonial rustic charm to it.
