we had the annex room (Convict) which was like having a private apartment. The food at the hotel was some of the best we had in Tasmania and very good prices too. A highly recommended place to stay. loved it.

The location is wonderful. Loved the town of Richmond. We stayed here 5 nights and drove around. Just 20 minutes from Hobart airport and 20 minutes into Hobart town too. Lots of beautiful drives in the area. We didnt do wine tastings but saw many beautiful orchards and cellar doors all around the area. The cottage itself is very beautiful with old world charm but modern comforts. I loved the Chinaware, which had so much more character than the plain white crockery we usually get in other places. This cottage is on the main road, so within easy reach of main attractions as well as lovely cafes.

A spacious snd spotlessly clean two bedroom unit. The bed was fantastic appears new - just perfect. Tea and coffee facilities available, the bathroom modern and easy to use. Being behind the hotel made having dinner easy!

So many things to see and do, even just a wander through the...

So many things to see and do, even just a wander through the small shops was fascinating. The history is also really interesting and there is a historic walk - maps available - which tells much more of the area. As well as all of this, there are wineries and other providore venues to visit.

A great place to start when you fly into Hobart.

A great place to start when you fly into Hobart. Just over 20 minutes away from the airport. This small town is packed with historic sites, shops, and eateries, and surrounded by an excellent wine region. Riversdale Estate would be top of our list! Everyone was welcoming and helpful.

Richmond was a lovely stopover, full of history and old...

Richmond was a lovely stopover, full of history and old school charm. We had a car which made it easy to get around. Richmond Bridge was beautiful, a great place to enjoy coffee and watch the ducks and time pass you by. Richmond Gaol was fascinating, reading all about the early days and life as a convict. Loads of little boutiques and cafes.

Richmond is a very pretty town and a great place to stay in, if all you want to do is relax or day trips to various natural attractions. Hobart is within arm's reach if you are driving, so need for city action can also be easily fulfilled. Being a quiet town though, food and drinks may be difficult to find after 8pm. There are great cafes and walking lanes for the daytime. My husband enjoyed playing golf in the mornings while I would walk around town. We would then take advantage of the long summer days and drive out - Eastern Coastal Drive, Mt Field National Park, Hobart MONA Museum, Bruny Island, Maria Island etc.

Richmond, Tasmania, is a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts, architecture lovers, and anyone seeking a picturesque and peaceful escape. The town’s well-preserved Georgian architecture, historic landmarks, and local attractions make it a unique and enriching experience. We have visited Richmond several times and it never disappoints. Richmond Botanical Co, opposite the maize, is our favourite shop. Richmond Botanicals Co. supplies a range of unique luxury Tasmanian giftware, including hand poured Tasmanian inspired Botanical soy candles, skin care products and much more.

Loved the place. Quiet peaceful relaxing. Whilst still close to sorell and Richmond and surroundings areas for amenities and activities. Space for kids to run around. Good internet and phone reception. Lady who greeted us was lovely. A new toilet and sink was upstairs just off the huge big bed's which was great not having to come down stairs at night. Bbq was awesome we did that the 2 nights of our stay.

Delicious breakfast prépared fresh and delivered to your cottage. Were nicely welcomed by our host Who gave us all the necessary information we needed to have a great stay. Richmond is à great option. We have appreciated every moment.
