Check in was a breeze. Its a bit of a walk to the resort from the jetty but great because its away from all the day-trip crowds. Breakfast is including & the varieties are surprisingly good. My family got the family tent with kitchenette. Kitchenette was really quite well equipped. Chinaware, glassware & crockeries are all available. 4 BBQ area are available in the common garden area if family wish to cook. We did some fishing & decided to grill our catch-of-the-day. Pinky beach with lighthouse is attached. There was almost nobody on the beach it feels private. Reef & scenery are beautiful. Sunset is directly on our beach too. One of the main reason we visited Rottnest was for the Quokka. The resort is the perfect place for it. Quokka were crawling everywhere outside our tent. They were just adorable. Temptation to adopt.

The staff were all polite, friendly, and very welcoming with their smiles, and they consistently provided prompt responses, typically within half a day, whenever I left a message. Due to our tour group itinerary, we had a very late check-in, and we sincerely appreciate their accommodation and flexibility regarding our late arrival. We were delighted by the abundance of complimentary amenities, including numerous snacks, drinks, and beers. A fantastic added benefit was the ability to refill sparkling water bottles just down the hall. Breakfast, served starting at 6:30 AM, was a very generous buffet featuring bread, jams, honey, oatmeal bowls, fresh fruit, milk, and plant-based milk options. Finally, the bed was incredibly comfortable—it felt like being enveloped in feathers—and was so good that I wish I knew the brand so I could buy one for home!

Beautifully restored and maintained building and great facilities. Beautiful clean room and lovely rooftop bar with the best sunset view. The hotel was at the heart of Freo and very close to the beach. The best hotel experience I have had!

The perfect base for our Perth adventure. From the easy check in process (Maricar was wonderful!), to the beautiful and well appointed room, and thoughtful touches, we loved everything about our stay. The location was perfect, we didn’t use our car at all - everything was within walking distance, incredible restaurants and cafes, Freo Markets, the docks. Breakfast was inclusive (simple but delicious), and there was free wine and cheese at the bar next door. We’d love to come and visit again.

E-bikes great for an overnight stay- covered almost the whole island in 24 hours! Wonderful beaches for swimming (even in August), good Quokka spotting tips from bike staff, and great to stay overnight and have an island almost to yourself as the 4pm ferry departs. Too much to squeeze into a one night stay, so more nights and a more relaxing pace for proper exploring next time :)

Rottnest is an absolute gem.

Rottnest is an absolute gem. Apart from the quokkas (which are everywhere), the beaches and the water are picture perfect and absolutely pristine. It is so easy to get there from Perth, it would be a crime not to go there.

Loved the scenery and the Quokkas, Only downfall was the emergency door between rooms that allowed you to hear conversations, tv shows and coughing from next door which took away from trying to relax

A great place to relax and recharge, and get some easy walking and cycling in, as well as snorkellng. Different options for coffee, drinks and meals depending on your budget, group (family, friends, groups). Loved the quokkas and the beaches with virtually no one on them.

Bicycle ride with the family till the tallest light house was the best! Mother's day lunch at Frankie's was simply delicious! Amazing pizza and good kids menu: (creamy chicken pasta for my fussy eater was a winner) The Nutella donut at the bakery next to general store was a special treat for the kids and they loved it! Quokkars everywhere. They're super cute and friendly. It's not allowed to touch or feed them thou.

The scenery was the best. It's just so beautiful.. Rottnest Island must be kept accessible and affordable. There is now a tendency for prices of accommodation going up in Rottnest Island due to some overpriced hotels. The hop-on hop-off buses were very convenient for moving around. The free walking tours by very knowledgeable volunteer guides is well worth it. More visitors should be encouraged to go on the various walking trails.

Comfortable, clean & furnishings that were cohesive with the beachfront location, we had a brilliant time exploring Rottnest Island knowing we could unwind in luxury back at Samphire afterwards.
