Tumut is a great little town.
Tumut is a great little town. It’s a great town to base yourself to explore the Snowy Valley. We enjoyed Yarrangobilly caves thermal pool. Highly recommend the river walk too. We also enjoyed Crafty Cider, who offers cellar door tastings as well as an animal farm with dogs, sheep, donkeys and camels! Adelong is only about a 20 minute drive from Tumut with a rich gold rush history. We also enjoyed the wellness walk at Pilot Hill Arboretum. Also, enjoyed a great pub meal at the Woolpack Hotel in Tumut. There’s plenty to do for a few days in very picturesque countryside.

Tumut is nice town near the Snowy mountains, Blowering dam and Tumut River.
The hotels offer great value and good quality meals, my favourites are the Kinaree Thai at the Commercial followed very closely by the Star Hotel bistro.
Tumut River brewery is also worth a visit as they have a range of very nice beer.
Two Tarts make a great breakfast, great coffee and have a big range of nice looking sweets.

We used Tumut as a base for visiting Selwyn Ski fields. A good price for a bit further to the fields. Woolworths nearby and a small main street for food options and small stores. A good town to stop over

Tumut is a lovely town on the river. Very pretty.
Tumut is a lovely town on the river. Very pretty. We went there for the fishing, but it was not the best timing unfortunately. Enjoyed a nice break, exploring the town, and had a great meal at the Star Hotel.

We have stayed in Tumut and surrounds many times (mainly camping at Goobagandra). Great town. Perfect size, just the right amount of amenities (shopping, pubs, restaurants, parks etc), without being swarmed by tourists. Also very picturesque, and the gateway to the snowy mountains (excellent launching pad for blowering dam, Yarrangobilly Caves, Jindabyne, and Thredbo).

A very nice Country town, and the local business owners were very decent people. Had that real country charm. I chose the wrong motel re pet hairs however I have stayed in Tumut previously and not had that problem. A very scenic town.

Loved everything about the accommodation and the area. If you are looking forward to just relaxing and enjoying the serenity, Tumut is the place to visit and stay. One week was not enough. We could have stayed here forever. We are looking forward to going back. Maybe in spring so we can enjoy the outdoor area.
The owner of the property is just wonderful too. We felt as though we were visiting family. Thank you, Dom, for making us feel so welcome. Missing you already.

Good value family accommodation. Comfortable beds. Kitchenette including stove, fridge, microwave etc. Aircon kept whole apartment warm in winter. Plenty of extra blankets too. Fresh clean towels were provided daily. Housekeeping do a fantastic job. 5 minute drive to woolworths Tumut. Just over an hour to the snow. Would happily stay there again.

The cottage was very comfortable and clean. Good sheets and towels. There is plenty of hot water for 4 adults. The cottage is within walking distance to the main streets of Tumut, where there is plenty of shops and restaurants.

The Amaroo is in a perfect position in Tumut. It is clean and tidy and the staff were lovely.
