Having our short Time vacation was such a wonderful time: the rooms are large and well decorated , the pool area is a beauty , very peaceful having the sound of nature. Breakfast was delicious, combining tipical Brazilian cafe da manhã (Maria treated us warmly). The staff are super nice and were helpful. Thank you guys! Truly recomended!

Forget to get there by car.

Forget to get there by car. We rented a car in Ilheus and from Itacare to Barra Grande we have done 2 and a half hour for 60kms! It is simply insane. We were very worried about car condition and also about our own safety (a car started to follow us). After the trip we have been advised to better go to Camumu and then take a boat to get there or directly via boat from Itacare, Ilheus or wherever. No asphalt, so please be aware of this and possibly rent an expensive quad (200 reais per day). Locals do not want to make asphalt streets because they say that will attract more people but Barra Grande literally lives from tourism. Who really gets them? Craters each inch and full of water. You can really lose your car there! Wanted to see the natural water pools of Taipu de Fora but could not reach them due to water craters on the "road". Decided to save the car and finally left the peninsula.

Barra Grande surprised us; it's a fun village, full of shops...

Barra Grande surprised us; it's a fun village, full of shops, bars, and restaurants, with cheerful and friendly people. The trip was worthwhile. But the access road is a disgrace to the Bahia state government; it's just potholes and puddles that look more like lagoons. It took us 35 minutes to go from Taipu to Barra Grande, a 5km journey.

I loved returning to Barra Grande.

I loved returning to Barra Grande. A very pleasant and peaceful village, with good infrastructure, good restaurants, good shops, easy shopping and access to various products. Good beaches and easy to get around within the village. The roads still need improvement.

Barra Grande is becoming more habitable.

Barra Grande is becoming more habitable. Lots of cars, motorcycles, and ATVs on the streets. But it still retains its beauty! I loved spending the day on Ilha do Goió. Wonderful swim! Delicious food! Clams, fish, and a delicious sururu broth, and top-notch service! The seafood platter at Ponta do Mutá was delicious! I recommend it!

The beaches are beautiful and empty, the natural pools are...

The beaches are beautiful and empty, the natural pools are delightful, the ATV tours are incredible, as are the boat trips around the islands. It was a very enjoyable trip, although the road wasn't very good because it was unpaved, but I think that's precisely why the place is still so well preserved.

It's a place with good infrastructure for tourists, without losing contact with nature. The sunset at Ponta do Mutá is fantastic. The gastronomy is excellent, as is the hospitality of the people. Special mention goes to Pousada Morada da Luz; Casa Amarela Gastro Bar, and the staff at the Princesinha agency (Edmilson, guide).

Marcia And Bandeira are the best! We actually felt like visiting our friends in Baja Grande. The location is right next to the beach and in the center, but very calm and safe. Food is amazing. The owners help with everything. They also have bikes to rent which we recommend a lot! Perfect Bahia experience.
