It is an amazing place. The accommodation has EVERYTHING you need. From oils and herbs for meals; teas and filled coffee machine: dishwasher tablets, hair-dryers and charger cables and adaptors. She had thought of everything! After coming from camping near Venice, this was a 5 Star hotel!!! Worth every Frank. We have a VW Caddimaxi and made it up the steep drive....not a problem! We are travelling with family visiting from Australia. After arriving at this amazing location and house, we just had to finish the experience with a Swiss Cheese Fondue, which complimented the delicious red wine and chocolates that we were gifted on arrival.

This property boasts a real swiss atmosphere, from the cozy rooms to the excellent dining experience, you’re guaranteed to have a memorable experience. The staff in the hotel and restaurant are some of the most hospitable individuals I’ve had the pleasure to meet on my travels in Switzerland and they made sure my stay was both comfortable and stress free. If you have not planned to do so, I can wholeheartedly recommend having lunch in their restaurant - they serve some very tasty dishes from reasonable prices, I can assure you they will have you full and ready to hit the slopes, or the party if you’re like me. I plan to stay again sometime in the future and would be happy recommend to any of my friends.

Wassen is a quiet town, with little else to do.

Wassen is a quiet town, with little else to do. A few hotels and a supermarket. There are good (paid) parking options, and a charging station for EVs. Perfect for an overnight stay while traveling, and you'll easily miss the traffic jam for the Gotthard Tunnel. Tip: just drive over the pass early in the morning; it's a beautiful drive and will save you an extra 30 minutes. Much better than waiting in traffic.

Wassen is a good place for transit (before/after the Gotthard tunnel/pass) and/or for excursions in the surrounding area. Cool scenery, railway line (trains pass the famous church three times on their way north or south).

The stay was purely for an overnight stay, so just sleeping there is long enough. There's absolutely nothing to do in the entire village. There was a hotel with a terrace, but it wasn't at all inviting to sit there.

Wassen's best days seem to be over: 8 out of 10 hotels/restaurants were closed during our visit in peak season. In fact, there were practically no alternatives to our choice. The church on the village hill is, of course, still a worthwhile highlight.

Wassen is quite small and easy to navigate.

Wassen is quite small and easy to navigate. There's at least one small restaurant with delicious food. Wassen is recommended as a starting point for hikes from Göschenen. There isn't much to explore in the village itself.

The chalet was spotless and in the perfect location for us as visiting family in Wassen. If you want to cook there is everything you need plus an excellent coffee machine. Plenty of room for a big family and smart tv if needed. Showers were excellent with lots of hot water and powerful. Terrace get the early morning sunshine and perfect if you enjoy watching the trains go past.

Good stop over location in Wassen. Very quiet town Auto hotel room with no reception just key in letterbox. Self service for food and supermarket 100m away The room had a terrace with good views of mountains. Room for motorcycle at side of building. Very clean and good facilities
