Absolutely fantastic! Very nice stay in a “funco” house, typical from “Chá das Caldeiras”. The hosts Léa and Joao are really really nice, the breakfast prepared by Isabela is also amazing. A real place to stay if you intend to visit Portela in Chá das Caldeiras.

Cannot say enough great things about our stay. Wonderful, friendly host family. Delicious dinner at a fair price. Breakfast is perfect before hiking. The stars are amazing at night and sleeping in the quiet of the caldera is a unique experience. Really really wonderful two nights.

An attractive room, looking out on the crater: lounges to relax on outside. Also enjoyed the meals we had here. But the best part of our stay was having Rose guide us to the lava cave. He explained so much and was very patient with our frequent stops at one stage. He also ensured that we caught early morning transport for a flight from San Filipe..

Omg top location, it cant be better! Owner is amazing, she is very very helpful and so positive. You can organise vulcano trip with quide by her. She is also helping to organize taxi from airport. Food prepared with all healthy restrictions. Place is magnificient, a bit cold at night time but additional blanket is available. Warm water is there but after a bit of waiting time

The location is perfect. Right at the start for the hike to Fogo. The location in booking is (as of today) not correct, its right in the center of the village. But the owners are superfriendly and can send you the details via WhatsApp. I arrived late because I was hiking till sunset and he waited outside on the street, and after check in I got a really delicious meal. The room has 3 comfy beds, enough plugs to charge and extra blankets. The bathroom is modern and has a shower (unlucky only with cold water). In the main building there are tables and chairs and a small bar. There is beer, wine, softdrinks, water.... Everything is clean and the WiFi works great. Breakfast is included, but I didn't use it as I was out hiking. From the house you have perfect views of Fogo. I can really recommend this place.

Great time at Dani's, the pension is perfect for a few nights in the Caldeira. Dani is a great guide as well, and a fantastic cook with his wife! The meals were excellent. Definitely recommend staying there.

What a lovely family! Booked it last minute and didn't expect much. But got an excellent place to stay! It is clean and cosy place for very good price. Good location as well. I even had the view to volcano through my window.
