Perfect spot! Clean, comfortabel and has everything you need. It was a great spot to discover this part of the country. The jacuzzi tub was a very nice welcome after a good hike and we as our dog very much enjoyed the balcony. Communication was very easy smooth and we had a nice welcoming drink waiting for us.

This is a normal post industrial, residential small town...

This is a normal post industrial, residential small town that suffers from an internet marketing campaign selling it as a tourist resort and a winter sports resort. It is not!!. Apart from one hotel with a restaurant and bar on a hill overlooking the town, the town has three restaurants, one shuts mid afternoon, one at 7pm and one claims to shut at 9 but shuts at 7 if they have few customers. Everything is shut at 7. The heavily marketed winter sports facility with ski and toboggan rental advertised opening at 10 am but no-one turned up and the phone number gave an answer machine in Czech saying "we are now closed, phone back later". The lookout tower restaurant and toboggan hire, the main tourist landmark marketed and a 4Km uphill climb, advertised as open (the doors were even open) was closed! We were told "it may be open Friday!". This attitude was apparent everywhere. I think that this "resort" is only aimed at weekend day trippers. They care nothing for people who have travelled there using up their annual leave, time and savings. Or they are victims of a slick, ambitious marketing campaign that they never signed up to.

There is an excellent pastry shop in Smržovka, and there is...

There is an excellent pastry shop in Smržovka, and there is a train connection to Tanvald or Liberec. If the snow conditions are good, skiing is available in the Filip area. Tanvaldský Špičák is also nearby. A nice trip is to the Černá Studnice lookout tower.

Smržovka lies on the edge of the Jizera Mountains.

Smržovka lies on the edge of the Jizera Mountains. It's a wonderful place for hiking. The village itself is rather unassuming, but its location shouldn't be underestimated. There are plenty of hiking trails of all lengths and in every direction. Furthermore, the popular ski resorts of the Jizera Mountains, as well as Tanvald and Liberec, are easily accessible.

A quiet place in a beautiful pastoral place and in an excellent location. No more than an hour's drive to any destination. The place is well equipped, it was a bit difficult to find the place. It's a little off the road, but we talked to the hosts who were very helpful. Everything is new and clean, in my opinion there are no nets on the windows. Every time you open a window, crickets, butterflies and other insects come in. I didn't really mind. My daughter didn't like it less. In summary, the place is clean, beautiful, well equipped and an excellent location for stargazing.

The accommodation was nice - new, nice, clean.

The accommodation was nice - new, nice, clean. There are many possibilities for trips in the area. Directly from the Tesla cottage you can go on foot to Tanvaldský Špičák and Malý Špičák with an unusual lookout tower or in the opposite direction to the Bramberk lookout tower with a stylish restaurant. The signpost is just above the apartment. We solved the bad weather by visiting the swimming pool in Jablonec nad Nisou.

A town in beautiful nature, with many tourist destinations (viewpoints, toboggan run, nearby Josefův důl, Jablonec n. N.) and several ski slopes (Filip lift, Tanvaldský Špičák). Available grocery stores, pharmacy, ATMs and gas stations in the place. Unfortunately, a minimum of open restaurants (March 2022).
