The hotel is brand new and location is great in the middle of the mountains. Rooms are clean and comfortable with a modern design. Breakfast was delicious. We loved the facilities in the hotel, especially the sauna and the steam bath. Overall great experience.

Received a very warm welcome at check in. Michael even presented double scoop homemade ice cream cones and a plate of warm pastries! Breakfast was a huge buffet of yummy things. We totally loved the coffee machines for the hot chocolate! Rooms were clean and updated, cozy and had fabulous views of the nearby mountains!

Farchant is a great stay if you want to be out of the...

Farchant is a great stay if you want to be out of the busyness of Garmisch-Partenkirchen but not too far away to be a moment away. Great local food and welcoming people, have been coming here for years and plan to return. The atlas hotel has a great restaurant with lots of choice and it’s easy to get to with the train station from Munich or Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Farchant is a gorgeous little village, really pleasant to walk around, with stunning scenery. Loads of local small businesses, pleasant square in front of the town hall, fantastic public transport to Garmisch , Oberammergau and Munich. The restaurant’s were also good. The Italian in the middle was a great price and really bust, we were lucky to get in as most tables were reserved. Bank has a cash point, there’s bakery (open early morning), pharmacy, ice cream parlour, shop, and various places to eat. One thing you must know - there are NO shops open on Sundays. There are vending machines in different places to buy local products such as milk, eggs, meat and cheese, but if you’re arriving late Saturday, or Sunday, bring some food with you. We ran out of time to try the pool and the local mountain walks, but the churches are lovely, the local historic walk is nice and it is so so quiet. A real rural idle but with great connections! The local tourist card is also really useful, we more than got our moneys worth just using the buses!

A quiet, peaceful town just outside the bustling resort town...

A quiet, peaceful town just outside the bustling resort town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen (only 4 km away). Excellent transport links (buses and train station). An ideal place for those seeking peace and quiet, surrounded by greenery, away from the resort and crowds. A good starting point for excursions both in the valley and in the mountains, it's also ideal for cycling.

A lovely place that offers a lot.

A lovely place that offers a lot. Several restaurants, an ice cream parlor, grocery stores (including direct farm shops), a good starting point for hiking, a nice outdoor swimming pool, and free bus use with the guest card, e.g., to Garmisch.

The proximity to the mountains is fantastic.

The proximity to the mountains is fantastic. You can reach the town of Garmisch in 10 minutes. There are many hiking trails, including challenging climbs. It's a great town, just off the beaten track. The Kuhflucht Gorge is beautiful, and the nature trail through the coniferous forest is simply stunning.

The apartment is very nice and clean with everything needed for the comfortable stay. A terrace overlooking the mountains makes it very cozy. The pizza restaurant nextdoor is also a nice bonus, delicious food can be ordered directly to the apartment and it is delivered very quickly. Farchant is a charming town very close to wonderful hiking trails. We would certainly recommend this place for the stay.

In this extremely tourism-centric area of the northern Alps, hoteliers do no need to go to great lengths, so it is particularly nice when they do. This was exactly the sort of customer experience you want to have - lovely room, great view, peaceful location, great breakfast, cozy lounge and above all brilliant staff.

Beautiful small hotel in walking distance from Farchant train station. Good connectivity to Eibsee by bus and train and to Zugspitze Bahn Station. Also connected to Munich by regio. Good German breakfast and excellent staff. The restaurant serves traditional German / Austrian cuisine.
