We loved everything in this hotel. When we arrived, there was a large parking space right beside the hotel. Therefore, we didn't have any problem to park our car. On entering the hotel, we were welcomed and given our room keys, as well as given information about restaurant opening times and breakfast times. The restaurant at this hotel was excellent. The menu came with a good choice and the food was excellent. Dessert was also delicious. We also loved the atmosphere at the restaurant. Breakfast was also nice and good. The staff at the restaurant and during breakfast were all kind, helpful, and giving an excellent service. The room was clean and with enough space. The balcony overlooked the parking area, with a good view of the road and the mountains. I would choose this hotel again if I decide to go to this location again in the future. I would highly recommend staying at Landgasthof Sonnenhof to anyone travelling in this area. We just loved it!

Great location, with a bus stop right across the street, making it easy to get to all the nature attractions, trails, cable cars, and train station. Close to many restaurants. Breakfast was amazing, with an endless number of options to eat and drink (including vegetable and lactose-free milk, and lactose-free yogurt). We could also bring our dog to the breakfast room, which was great. The service and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Great room (especially the bathroom, with an amazing shower), with a mini-fridge and a balcony with mountain view.

I was there 31.07.24-02.08.24 The hotel is located in the heart of the resort, a quick 15 minute walk from the station and very easy to find. the hotel is very beautiful and comfortable. The dinner is personal, magnificent and quite a lot, it is not even possible to eat so much at once. The staff is exceptional, from the owner of the hotel to the various workers. The reception is very high level. As a bonus, a card for using transport is given, with which you can go around all nearby resorts, lakes and even get a small discount at various paid entrances. It was the most beautiful stay I had in my entire trip this time. I wish I could stay in that hotel forever. My room was number 3 facing the street. In the evening there was live music in the restaurant, which is typical was to Bavaria, and the restaurant was always full. I will be back again and again.

There is not much happening in Klais, other than a few walks...

There is not much happening in Klais, other than a few walks or cross country skiing in winter. Now in autumn it is a lovely, quiet base for all sorts of excursions in the vicinity. Mittenwald and Garmisch Partenkirchen are only a few km away.

Klais is very small village, there is nothing, no bakery no...

Klais is very small village, there is nothing, no bakery no shops. On the other hand it is very quiet and just a short drive to Garmisch. Some hikes can be started directly from there. There is a train and a bus station.

Klais lies between Garmisch and Mittenwald.

Klais lies between Garmisch and Mittenwald. It has good public transport connections, so many destinations can be reached by regular bus or guest bus, making it a convenient starting point for hikes. The "Alpenwelt Karwendel App" is also helpful in this regard.

There are many options. Kranberg, Elmau Castle.

There are many options. Kranberg, Elmau Castle. But also the lakes Geroldsee, Grubsee, and Barmsee. They are all within walking distance. Grubsee is a swimming lake. Barmsee also has a beach. Beautiful mountain scenery. From Klaus, you can easily plan routes, hike the Roman Trail, etc.

Thanks to the hosts’ attention and care, we felt like welcome guests. The hotel is furnished cozily and with love. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. There was a full-size hairdryer in the room. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety. Thanks to the product selection system, everything was fresh and beautifully presented. Convenient parking.
