The staff at Hotel Deutsche Eiche were so nice and super helpful. The location was very close to the old town and the market. It was a short tram ride to the train station. The room was comfortable. The minibar was included and replenished daily. The rooftop bar has an amazing view of the city. I highly recommend and will be back.

The staff, most friendly and kind people at the front desk and all other services in the hotel. The hotel is beautiful and nicely located in the centre on a busy street. Parking in the underground garage is convenient. We had the Suite, which is marvellous, perfect size and layout. great beds and bathroom. all just good. Love the Ren products! Wine bar in the hotel is nice, they have some special wines on the glass like a Chateauneuf du Pape and nice Pinot Noirs.

There's a lovely heritage feel starting from the exterior of the building all the way to the individual furniture pieces in my room. Staff were very friendly and very accomodating to families. They even gave me a chocolate St. Nicholas as a Christmas gift!

FAQs about hotels in Munich

Beyond Oktoberfest

Renowned for its stunning architecture and the world’s largest fair, Oktoberfest, Munich needs little introduction. Its vibrant cultural scene, great shopping and fantastic museums speak for themselves.

Munich has something for everyone: from historic palaces and castles, to stunning royal avenues to world class galleries and museums. Don't miss the new city hall in the heart of Marienplatz or the former residence of the Bavarian kings, the Residenz. Munich is also home to the world’s most famous beer hall, the Hofbräuhaus.

For great shopping, Karlsplatz is another commercial wonderland square that takes up much of the city centre and the upscale area around Maximilianstrasse. Munich is famous for its food too, so make sure you try the local Weißwurst, Leberkässemmeln and other popular pork dishes.

Thanks to efficient S-Bahn train, getting to the city centre from Germany’s second busiest airport, Munich International Airport is quick and easy. Whether you’re looking for luxury hotels, youth hostels or comfortable apartments, Booking.com has the perfect accommodation for your Munich visit.

Great city - lots to see and do and the old town is very walkable. Christmas markets were lovely especially the Medieval market at Wittelsbacherplatz and and the food market at Viktualienmarkt. The galleries and museums are very good too. The collection at the Neu Pinakothek has been rehoused at the Alte Pinakothek whist renovations are underway which was a bit confusing at first as there isn’t much signage about this on site. Worth visiting the Museum of Five Continents- cheap, quiet with some great displays and photos. Climb the Cathedral tower (there is a lift most of the way) on a clear day; the views are amazing and you can see the Alps!

The medieval part of the city is a few less interesting than other cities like Praha or Krakow. It's a modern city, and you can visit places like de Deutsches Museum. But is a very expensive city.

Stayed for a 3 nights predominantly to visit the Christmas Markets and as always Munich didn't fail to produce the goods. Along with the markets, visits to the Englischer Garten, the Residenz Museum, Rathskeller Restaurant / Cafe, some of Munich's amazing Churches & Cathedral made the whole experience all the more special. And of course, no visit to Munich is complete without a visit to the Hofbrauhaus!

Munich is a nice city that you can walk around comfortably on foot with lots to see and do. The Christmas markets, there are a few, are very good. Leave lots of space in you luggage for Chistmas items.
