Svaneke was once the most beautiful village in Denmark. It has two harbors, charming houses, and a pleasant town square. It's a cozy village. Bornholm is also an incredibly diverse and attractive island. Rightly so: the pearl of the Baltic Sea.

A very pretty little seaside town with a small harbor and...

A very pretty little seaside town with a small harbor and two swimming areas. The coastal path runs through here and is particularly beautiful in both directions. There are nice little kiosks, bakeries, and restaurants. Brugsen is open 24/7 (8 am to 7 pm).

Svaneke town was really nice with everything AND you should...

Svaneke town was really nice with everything AND you should find accommodation in the town, instead of at "Bornholm Panorama Apartments" where the staff has no knowledge of the Danish language. The receptionist was now very sweet, nice and friendly, but looked like a question mark when you asked about something, as she did not understand or speak a single word of Danish. So we could not get answers to simple questions.

A fantastically beautiful town with many small old half-...

A fantastically beautiful town with many small old half-timbered houses. The streets were very narrow and a bit difficult to drive around in. Down by the harbour's restaurant, we often sat where we could see the sea, people jumping into the water, and sailing ships coming and going.

It's too expensive.

It's too expensive. You actually only have a bed and a bedside lamp. Please note that there are 4 dogs and 1 cat in the house if you are allergic. Please note that you share a bathroom with the landlady. I also had to ask for bed linen. There were no towels. I will never choose it again.

Svaneke is a beautiful harbor town with lots of charm and a fishing village idyll and with a fantastic location. The town is, as a tourist destination (restaurants, experiences, etc.), quickly overlooked - but on the other hand, Bornholm is not so big that you can quickly find good alternatives.

This is one of those bookings where a beautiful location and accom very close to all you want to see and do in Svaneke is badly let down by property management. So I score this 5 out of 10 as there was insufficient linen supplied e.g. 3 single sheets for 2 queen size beds for 3 people. When I called off site property manager, they tried to tell me I should have booked linen but we were not told before arrival about needing to book linen. So my first night was spent using a t-shirt for a pillow case and no duvet cover.

Nice and bright design (note - bring your own toilet paper, garbage bags etc, it's not included). Spacious room (note - if you are 4 people, 2 must sleep on the convertible in the living room). Good mattresses. Quiet. Free use of bikes (note - bring your own helmet). Washer and dryer available. Nice surroundings (note - the apartment is in Aarsdale, not Svaneke).
