This hotel is a little gem! We truly loved our stay here in this small boutique-hotel. All the staff was so friendly and very service-oriented. Having delicious breakfast on the beautiful rooftop was magical, especially when seeing all the hot air balloons early in the morning! We also had our dinner during our stay which was very good as well! The location is perfect, not far from the Valley of the Kings and Queens. The hotel has an unbeatable view on the Medinat Habu temple which is within walking distance! We found out that the hotel was the first and only hotel on the Westbank. Howard Carter and his team stayed here during the time the tomb of Tutankhamun was discovered so for us this gave an extra dimension to our stay!

We had an excellent stay at Al Wadi. It’s a very nice boutique hotel with all the needed amenities in the room and more than enough space to enjoy around the hotel. Mohamed is a great on site concierge, that can assist with any need you may have. We really enjoyed the on site massages and private chef dinner that we were able to setup through Mohamed. Couldn’t have asked for anything better. Definitely recommend.

We can hardly believe that we were lucky enough to come across this hotel by chance. The Nile compound is a paradisiacal hotel far away from the tourist hustle of the city center and I recommend it to everyone for a stay in Luxor - you won't find anything better. It's like a little oasis of peace where you feel at home and yet you can reach the center very quickly by cab or tuktuk. We received a very warm welcome here and immediately decided to stay an extra night, because you don't often find such a beautiful place. Our bungalow was right on the Nile and we had a wonderful view. We were also able to order first-class local food and drinks or shisha at very fair prices. All the staff were extremely pleasant and friendly and always on hand to help when we needed advice (for example, we had a problem with an outside cab driver who charged more than we had agreed and they were on hand immediately to sort the situation out for us). The owner Mahmoud made sure we were provided with everything around the clock and we have rarely felt so comfortable - we will definitely be back to stay longer!

The house is fantastic - exactly as the photos show. It exceeded our expectations. It's in a lovely, quiet location with a large garden where the owner grows a variety of fruit, vegetables and flowers. The interior of the house is beautifully decorated with the most amazing traditional dome and barrel ceilings. Immaculately clean, every facility you need and the most comfortable beds ever! Mustafa was most welcoming and a great host. You are just two minutes walk from the amazing temple of Medinet Habu and another few minutes to the ticket office for many of the West Bank attractions. Easy walking distance to Valley of the Queens, Tombs of the Nobles, Collissi of Memnon, Deir El Medina, Ramasseum etc. Fantastic views in every direction from the roof terrace of the house. Also, plenty of small shops and several restaurants/cafes nearby. It really was a memorable place to stay - you are in the heart of a small village, mixing with the very friendly local residents, you can get to all the main attractions easily and then you have the peace and tranquility of this historic location in the evening after the tourist buses have all departed. Perfect!

Mahmoud and brother were amazing and very very hospitable. We enjoyed a delicious dinner with an array of food and a very good breakfast in the morning. Mahmoud was very kind and went above and beyond for us. The views are absolutely stunning and I suggest waking up early in the morning to view the hot air balloons over the valley of the kings. Mahmoud kindly let us check out late as we had a flight to catch, I would highly recommend staying here. Room and facilities very neat and tidy. Pool was amazing to enjoy on a hot day. 100/100.

Everything! Our home in Luxor, no question. I rate 10 because I cannot give more. On the West Bank. The location is really in front of Habu Temple (10 meters!), and at a walking distances from Queens' Tombs, Nobles' Tombs, Deir El Medina with Workers and Artisans' Tombs, Ramesseum, Memnons' Statues. But, the most important: here you feel like at home, you are in a family. They TAKE CARE of the guest. Also the breakfasts are incredibles, the food at Maratonga Restaurant is so good! Ok wifi. Bathroom with separated shower (who was in Egypt can understand). We will come back again, no doubt. To reach the Homestay from East Bank (where are train and Go Bus stations): short walk until the pier of the public ferry boat, ferry (10egp) every 10-15 minutes, collective minibus (5egp, ask for "Habu") and another short walk. To go to the East Bank from the Homestay: short walk, minibus (5egp) to "Ferry boat" and than ferry (10egp).
