Honestly, there's nothing worthwhile about it.

Honestly, there's nothing worthwhile about it. We passed through for personal reasons, but it's definitely a place with nothing to do. Almost everything was closed because they'd been at the fair, and it was difficult to find anywhere to eat or have lunch 🤦🏼‍♀️ There's a bar in Plaza de España run by a really nice girl named Laura, and Tamara's bar is also very good, along with Felipe. They're both the best thing about Alburquerque 😅

Alburquerque is a fairly large city with an older area near the castle and another area with more recent buildings. In the old town, the streets are narrower, but it's possible to travel by car, although with some difficulty. The castle is beautiful and offers breathtaking views, but it's situated in a very steep area.

The town is fantastic. With so much to see.

The town is fantastic. With so much to see. It has a huge and very well-preserved castle. The Church of Santa Maria del Mercado at its foot is wonderful. Its walls, narrow streets, and cave paintings are just some of the many things worth visiting. And it's also close to other places to see, like Cáceres, Mérida, and Zafra.

We couldn't visit the castle; it was closed Monday and Tuesday. We don't know if it was open due to Covid, but in September 2021, other people's comments indicated that guided tours were suspended. It was a disappointment.
