The Gaudi palace was amazing and well worth the visit for that alone. Really enjoyed the 3D immersive experience too which they also had in the Cathedral. Had time to visit the Roman Museum but not the chocolate factory as only had the one night. Ate in the main plaza and as it was a Monday not everything was open but Tuesday morning there was more choice for breakfast. Main sights are all within walking distance

If you are a fan of Gaudi's architecture , a lover of history, or a Camino Pilgrim, then this town is a must for a couple of days visit. The old city is easy to navigate on foot. The chocolate museum is also worthwhile if your time allows. If we were traveling by car then I think we should have liked to stay an additional night and explore some of the surrounding area. As it was we were slowly making our way by bus from Santiago de Compostella to fly out of Madrid after having walked the Portuguese Camino.

It is a nice small town.

It is a nice small town. The Gaudi Palace and the Cathedral are very interesting and nice sights to be visited. The town itslef is also very nice to walk around and to explore the town. It is a nice place to spend up to 1 day.

The city is interesting, particularly in the old quarter around the cathedral and Gaudi building. There are several very good value hotels in the centre of the city and many restaurants which tend to be busy.

Astorga is a lovely town with plenty to see for a weekend stay. Main attraction is the Antonio Gaudi-designed Bishop's Palace (now a museum), a sort of Sleeping Beauty castle designed as a residence for the bishop of the cathedral next door. Secondly, the architecture and buildings all around town -- you can walk for hours and it's even large enough to get lost in, so bring your phone. The cathedral is sadly not very worthwhile -- drab, disorganized, you can go in but you won't stay long. Tip: Almost all shops are closed Sunday, except for the moust touristic, so do your shopping on Saturday.

Second time to stay in Hotel Gaudi. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. The location is opposite Gaudi's Palace. Our room was of a decent size and overlooked the square with a great view of the Palace. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Our bikes were securely stored in a garage around the corner. No complaints.

Large hotel right on the main square! The room was large and we had a view of the square. Breakfast provided a good range of food choices, although it was disappointing we could not get a meal there on the night we stayed. We were told of options near by. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The position in the old town with close access to the hotel parking lot (lots of stairs, though), where you also do the check-in, is great: and so is the spacious apartment in general ...

A beautiful and storied property. Unique and elegant. The staff are wonderful. I wished I had more days in Astorga and would have spent the time just relaxing in the property’s courtyard.
