Absolutely stunning hotel and location, located diretcly on the beach with a hiking trail behind the hotel. This hotel was like something you'd see in a movie, beautiful views, beautiful rooms, private outdoor shower, and big comfortable beds. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, really made it difficult to leave. The South Sea Cruises ferry stops right outside the hotel so it's very easy to travel to the other Yasawa Islands.

The room was bare bones compared to where I'm from, but I was very comfortable. The water in the shower is not heated, but I was fine with that. I enjoyed all the food and the staff are very friendly. Try not to be late for meal times. A heads up, the condition of the ocean, wind, and tides will affect if you can snorkel or kayak in front of the resort, but that is nature! Nothing the resort can control, so go with it. Also, there is no activities on Sunday, because it's a day of rest for the staff according to their religion. And I think that's great. I also want to appreciate how when I missed the morning reef shark snorkel experience, the resort staff arrange for me to go on a snorkel trip in the afternoon. It was possible only because the tide conditions were ok. It was so nice of the staff to arrange this for me and I am so grateful for it.

Very nice island with friendly people. The staff is so nice and make good food for you. The beds are great and there is mosquito netting above the bed, which was helpful as the insect nets in front of the windows had holes in it. The staff does a great job in making you feel at home and will help you out with anything. There’s a resort 15 mins walk from the property where you’ll be able to buy some bottles of water and other drinks.

Mantaray Island Resort had the best food and snorkeling/scuba diving of all the places we stayed in Yasawa Islands. The Treehouse Bure was pretty basic but met our expectations due to the price. The bathrooms and communal showers were clean, but also quite basic.

What Guests Said About Kuata:

BareFoot Kuata was a fair or probably a bad place to stay.

BareFoot Kuata was a fair or probably a bad place to stay. It is focused on the Backpacker tourist and even for that customer segment I find it expensive for the quality of food and accommodation. Food was not good at all. A typical buffet with the regular stuff and nothing that will impress you. Basic food. Basic coffee. Basic Tea. The staff at the restaurant were just doing their job but they were never friendly or welcoming. The guy that took my luggage to the Bure told me as I arrived how tired he was of working and walking to the most distant Bure which is number 30. More of hinting for a tip. Also he suggested to be approached individually if I wanted a fresh coconut. The facilities were simply all right. There were lounges by the beach that had not seen any proper cleaning or maintenance in a long time so it looks sad and abandonned. The staff at the Dive Shop when being asked for a kayak at 4 pm looked like they were not keen to help as they finish their day at 5 pm. Cleaning could have been better. The hotel lacks greenery other than what is there already, as pathways and common areas could be enhanced and made more beautiful. Once again, if you are into the backpacking world, this could be for you. But if you want a more boutique hotel or intimate experience, then I would go somewhere else. The only reason why I chose it was the snorkeling with the sharks but you can do that as a day visitor.
