I honestly don’t know why this hotel doesn’t have a higher rating, an absolutely underrated gem! - good location, free parking, very cozy common area. - insanely comfortable bed! It was the best sleep I had during my whole trip in Brittany! - I definitely recommend having dinner in the hotel’s restaurant, the food and wine were great and the staff were attentive. - Breakfast is 100% worth paying for, hands down the best hotel breakfast I’ve encountered for a long time! They offer big variety of options including customised omelettes. All the food was very high quality. Yummy! Special thanks to the amazing manager/hostess (unfortunately, I forgot to ask the name) who was super nice, attentive and extremely welcoming. Definitely a person that knows how to run a business in hospitality!

Sylvie and Alain are excellent hosts. Upon arrival Alain provided us with information about the main sights in the Paimpol area. He advised us to reschedule our trip to île-de-Bréhat in view of the weather forecast. Our room on the first floor was clean and spacious - this was the cleanest accommodation during our trip in Bretagne by far. We loved the breakfast: 🍳, the home made cake & crêpes and the fruits. It was great to enjoy the garden. We would return any time with pleasure.

The property was an easy walking distance, about 25 mins or less , to Paimpol harbour. Our hosts were wonderful, warm and inviting , the friendliest , nicest hosts that we have ever met ! Véronique and Stéphane provided us with a wonderful continental style breakfast complete with a different fresh, delicious home baked cake every morning, including banana bread, almond cake, Far Breton, pound cake and other homemade goodies ! The breakfast room was used as a common room all day where one could enjoy free tea and coffee .Our accommodation was spacious ,bright, comfortable and quiet. Onsite parking was a real bonus . Seating was available for relaxing in their beautiful,peaceful garden. Special thanks to Stéphane for helping with a minor car issue with his local garage which saved us a lot of trouble. We highly recommend Chambres d’hôtes “Le Clos de La Baie”.

Our stay at Le Vieux Clos was delightful. Caroline was a perfect host, who greeted us on arrival with a very warm welcome, attended to all our requests and made a reservation our our behalf at a nearby restaurant - La Balthazar, where we enjoyed a superb dinner. The property was pleasant, clean, quiet and comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent. I would highly recommend this B&B.

Breakfast was fabulous. Our host, Thierry, gave us the best and most varied continental breakfast possible and on sunny days we ate on the terrace in his beautiful garden. Thierry was very friendly and helpful. The house was beautifully painted, five minutes walk from the old town and port. The furniture and decor was superlative and our ensuite was roomy and beautiful.

A friendly town, marvellous local produce, excellent market on Thursday and dining was excellent . An easy relaxing picturesque location. My third visit for the Dartmouth Paimpol Cross Channel Regatta . The marina staff are exceptional and the Hotel Goelo was a good choice to relax in after busy days and long late dinners. Recommend L'Escale , Terre Nuevos and Le Criee to eat at - the standard of service at each was superb and the food delicious.

We were very impressed with Paimpol & the surrounding area,...

We were very impressed with Paimpol & the surrounding area, both coastal & inland, but in full season it could be very difficult to get around & park. There are plenty of shops & restaurants but we only ate home-cooked food. The ruined Abbey de Beauport is well worth a visit, with lovely coastal walking areas in and around the grounds. It also had excellent parking & a cafe. We would recommend a stay in Paimpol but not in the full holiday season.

Paimpol is a large town compared with many of its neighbours...

Paimpol is a large town compared with many of its neighbours. There are plenty of shops and restaurants but we did not find any outstandingly good. It came to life on the Tuesday with a very large market which occupies several streets and squares in the town. The bars were full and the atmosphere was lively.

Nice little town, lots of interesting shops and restaurants, everything very close by, small independent shops and supermarkets, hardware stores garages and the like, touristy but obviously popular with locals as well.

A pretty, characterful town near the sea, bustling with shops and very lively. We didn't eat out much, but we did have dinner once at Restaurant Les Alizés on Rue des 8 Patriotes, and it was very good. It's a central location for exploring this beautiful part of the Côtes d'Armor (Port Blanc, Plougrescant, Binic, the cliff road), with some lovely walks to be had.

Hikes along the Ploubazlanec cliffs, Chapelle and Pointe de la Trinité; Moulin de Cracra; Bar à Huitre Chez Arin; Beauport Abbey; boat trip to the Île de Bréhat and hike to the Phare du Paon lighthouse – all absolutely beautiful! Excellent dining options everywhere! Very good public transport system. Tip: If you plan to swim, check the tide tables before your trip.

It is difficult for me to review this hotel as there was a large noisy fair immediately outside and I got little sleep. I was warned in advance and booked at the back of the hotel, however, the room turned out to be at the side and the only way to reduce the noise was to shut the window throughout the night which made a small room hot and stuffy. The heavy duvet didn’t help. The receptionist, Kevin, was otherwise very helpful.
