I love this place … it has a real soul and is a family business and been in the family for several generations. The lady who runs it speaks very good English. Everybody is do helpful and the restaurant is great … true traditional fine dining. I really hope this hotel will be around in the years to come because my stay in Vizzavona on the GR20 will not be the same without it. And I really recommend the Tatin tart … the best ever. Thank you for creating memories and thank you for this lovely haven from the past.

The hosts are incredibly warm and welcoming. Staying at Casa Alta was so comfortable it revitalised us on our way to continue the GR20. The stay, delicious dinner and hearty breakfast fortified us at the half way point. Casa Alta would be a great place to stay longer to relax.

Vizzavona is the perfect spot as a base for day hikers, and the ideal stop for through hikers taking a luxury (compared to camping) break. But if you’re not there for Corsica’s great outdoors, then it’s not for you. It’s all about the hiking.

Big room with stunning view of the mountains. Delicious food. This station hotel is modern and comfortable but equally it felt like stepping back in time with polished wooden floors and lots of original features. It was lovely to watch the trains go through. It is on the backpacker route which gave it an informal comfy atmosphere. Great location for walking. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. Our two night stay up in the mountains felt like a special experience.

Such lovely warm welcome from the owners who are a group of older locals - they couldn’t have done any more to welcome us. We felt right at home! The rooms were comfortable and warm, nothing fancy but all you want when on the GR20. We were a group of 5 travellers from the UK with very average French language skills, but it didnt matter one bit! They even helped to transfer us from Vizzavona train station. It was so memorable and right on the GR20 route.

It was a great location for the GR20, be sure to come off the route early so you don't need to walk up from Vizzavona. Really friendly staff and the breakfast and dinner at the restaurant was excellent.

This is an elegant hotel with exceptional service, food, and lovely rooms. To have this available in the middle of the Corsican mountains was amazing, and much appreciated after 9 days on a tough trek.
