We arrived on what had been a warm day but much later than we’d planned which was unfortunate as we would have loved to sit in the garden and enjoy the sun. Nevertheless, Cindy was a wonderful hostess and made us feel very welcome. The room was welcoming and absolutely spotless. This particular room doesn’t have a standing shower but does have a lovely bath and shower head, this is clearly advertised and was one of the reasons we chose the room as we’d wanted a relaxing bath, which is exactly what we got in this peaceful setting. We had a little trip into the close by village of Ashwell and had dinner at the three tuns, it had a great beer garden but Cindy informed us of another great pub called the rose and crown which we’ll be sure to get to next time. When it came to breakfast it really couldn’t get any better, there was a great range of options and we decided to go with a cooked breakfast. We were incredibly wowed by it! The sausages and bacon were absolutely delicious (I’m assuming they’re locally sourced because they did seem very high quality and full of flavour), there was a generous accompaniment of hash browns, mushrooms, beans, our choice of egg/s (also very tasty and fresh), and a good selection of different breads and jams. The presentation was perfect and it is honestly the best B&B breakfast I’ve had the pleasure of eating. We would highly recommend this B&B if you’re looking for a peaceful setting with a welcoming atmosphere and a delicious breakfast.

The staff were so friendly, efficient and helpful. While making my booking, I enquired if I could have access to an iron during my stay and I was very impressed to find an ironing board and iron in our room upon check-in! The hotel and surrounding manor buildings were beautiful and unique. Everything was clean and cozy. Food from the bar and during the breakfast was delicious. As I was a guest to the wedding event that took place there, I could see that the staff there gave their all to make it run smoothly and that everything could be perfect, everyone was friendly and lovely.

Stayed for one night.

Stayed for one night. The hotel is at the side of the A1 southbound but if you are going northbound there is an exit just up the road to go south. The hotel is far enough away from the road so you don't get too much road noise. The rooms are roomy and comfortable.

I was attending an event at Shuttleworth and needed somewhere to stay overnight. Although The White House was ten miles away it was definitely worth the drive. The house was lovely in the middle of the countryside x so peaceful. The host couldn’t do enough for us made us so welcome. The bed was super comfortable x the facilities lovely x clean. The breakfast was fantastic everything you could want x more.

We had a lovely room although there was evidence of dogs having stayed in the room. Perhaps Redwings should restrict animals to a limited number of rooms. The receptionist on arrival was fantastic. Friendly, cheerful and very helpful. There is a fabulous restaurant a few steps away with very good quality homecooked meals. The room was as expected. Clean, tidy and welcoming.

Utilising the train will be to your advantage, especially if...

Utilising the train will be to your advantage, especially if you don't drive/can't drive on your trip. There are no meals available, so it could get expensive, but; you do have access to a kitchen area for cooking. Taxis are basically non-existent in the town, so book in advance. Even Uber don't want to travel here for collection. Royston is less than 10 mins on the train, as is Baldock.

We only stayed one night so we didn't get the chance to see much. But for kids, totally recommend Standalone Farm. Children will love the actual farm animals. Also, Gravely fruit farm, where you can pick your own strawberries.

Plenty of places to eat next door to the hotel. Big car park plus disabled spaces. Letchworth a nice place to visit.Super coffee shop that let's dogs enter,lovely coffee super food. Baldock a nice town.

A lovely country house in a beautiful setting just a couple of miles from Ashwell ( a very easy drive and was handy as we were visiting friends there). The room was excellent - cosy, clean, spacious and well equipped with a very nice en suite. Cindy and Richard were very welcoming and the breakfast was enormous and delicious! Far nicer than staying in a featureless hotel!

The hotel was very clean and the bed was comfortable. There was a TV in the room and the WiFi was good. The staff were friendly. There was a restaurant next door which was good value. It was a convenient place to break our journey near the A505 and we had a good sleep.
