Staff couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming - we had had a long journey - 36hrs, from the other side of the world - we had to stay overnight near Cardiff Airport, in order to pick up a rental car the next day, and were exhausted. They kept the kitchen open especially to cook us a meal, which was great. Food quality excellent & freshly cooked. Good night's sleep, despite our body clocks telling us it should be daytime. Decor is lovely, thoughtful, resting. Would definitely stay again.

The concept of the rooms at The Deck is quirky. The rooms are spacious and very clean, with everything you need. The location was so peaceful and relaxing and close to the barrage for an easy walk to Cardiff Bay. The breakfasts were delicious!

The staff are extremely nice, attentive and helpful! Any hotel would be lucky to have such a team :) Especially recommended if you are travelling with a child and a dog! We see our dog as a member of the family and expect to be able to move freely with him in the hotel (except in the SPA area, of course). This is possible in this hotel without any problems! Everything else was also very nice: pool and SPA very clean and well maintained. We will be happy to come back! Love in particular to the "breakfast team" ;)

Nice little seaside town, full of charm and a must for Gavin...

Nice little seaside town, full of charm and a must for Gavin and Stacey fans. Very quiet out of season. There seems to be a lot of building work going on to improve facilities. Not too over commercialised, nice sandy beach with good selection of snack bars and cafes. Finegans Spanish style restaurant is brilliant with great staff. The railway station is situated on the seafront with good connections to Cardiff and local areas.

If you love Gavin and Stacey like me then this is a must!

If you love Gavin and Stacey like me then this is a must! The tour was brilliant. There were so many pubs and cafes for great quality breakfast and food. We went to Coastal Coffee on the Island, the food was lush and the coffee was amazing, so much I returned later that day. We had a beautiful evening dinner at Cosy Vibes at Finnegans Inn, the waiter was brilliant and spoke to everyone in there. Absolutely loved the island, the fair had lovely doughnuts, seaside had lovely sand on the beach, Marcos had great icecream, all the seaside shops you can ask for, even a Bierkeller there. Spent way too many 2ps in Nessa's Slots. The Dolphin bar (old name- I can't remember the new name) was friendly and did nice cocktails. So many people were so friendly that worked down there it was really refreshing for a seaside town. We went on some walks and saw lots of history and some new up and coming places. Goodsheds opposite the pump house is made up of shipping containers and a train that has local shops, food, bars and businesses included-was a great find. There's so many parks, a soft play for children. I will 100% go back to Barry next time with my children

We spent most of our time on Barry Island, it's a great place if you have young children. Beautiful beach and lots of amusements. Barry itself is a little rundown which is a pity because it has a lovely village feel to it.

We were in the area for visiting family and friends.

We were in the area for visiting family and friends. Barry is not your average holiday destination. Good for beaches if weather is good. The funfair on the Island would be good for thrill seekers. Not like the Fun parks of course. A fairly good base for touring the coastal areas, and Cardiff. There is a fabulous fish restaurant at the Knap area in Barry.

Beauty of a beach clean walk ways shame this was just the island. Outside where we stayed was multiple people letting there dogs poo without caring (not just tourists) at one point had to step over a fresh pile on entrance to the station docks where kids were spray painting some old buildings despite being fenced off (no one around to report to)

Barry is the home of Gavin and Stacey and an excellent place to visit plus the Gavin and Stacey Tour was excellent and a must for anyone wanting to see more of the points of interest around Barry and Barry Island

Location was great. Large Asda was less than 5 minutes on foot. Barry town was 20 minutes away, from where we could catch a train to Cardiff. Barry Island Seafront was even closer. Barry was clean & for a coastal resort in August, fairly quiet.

Very friendly, warm and welcoming staff Conveniently located in the centre of Barry with Barry Island and beaches about 5 minutes drive away Light and airy room. Clean throughout Well stocked bar (open until 1am but doesn’t get rowdy)
